  1. This question is perfect timing for me! I have a large family and we are traveling with my mom and brother's family in a few weeks. I linked our bookings but I have been waitlisted for early dining, my brother's room is waitlisted for anytime, and my Mom's room has anytime right now.

I like anytime but thought that since there are 11 of us traveling together it would be a long time for them to find a table(s) for us to eat together. So this eases my mind a bit.

I am still hoping that we somehow end up on early dining (I'll try once on board) so that it'll be easier but this eases my mind that we won't be too bad off with anytime.

  2. So my  husband actually dealt with this and it wasn't a big problem for us.

His birth certificate had his name spelled one way, his social security card another, and his drivers license yet another (things were much more relaxed in the early '80s).

Think Roberto Antonio, Robert Anthony, Robert Anthonio.

We booked under 'Robert' and got hassled on one of our cruises so he applied for a Passport. There was a place to explain name differences and he just explained that while he birth certificate says 'Roberto' he goes by 'Robert' and they issued his passport as Robert Anthony.

I'd really like to see the name discrepancy OPs mom has between what she is known as and what is on her B.C.

  3. Depending on how you booked you can switch the kids to one room. They don't have to have one of you in the room if your reservations are linked.

    Carnivals policy: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2544/~/minor-guest-policy

Where minor guests can be booked in relation to relative or guardian:

    • Guests 12 and younger
If the relative or guardian insists on booking separate staterooms, minors must either be directly across the hall or next door. Guests 12 and under may not be assigned to a balcony stateroom without a relative or guardian (25 years of age or older).
    • Guests 13 - 17 years of age
Can be booked up to 3 staterooms away from a relative or guardian (25 years of age or older).
    • Guests 18 – 20 years of age
Do not have any restrictions and may book whatever location they prefer.

  4. I am literally on the phone right now and was/am worried about the same thing!

I already have $58 and will be getting another $17 right now and I worry they'll somehow screw it up and I'll lose my original $58.

Well I shouldn't have been nervous! I actually got far more OBC than I was expecting when I did my mock booking. So glad I called and that they update your docs right away.
