I would say Roatan is particularly safe for Carnival since they have their own docking and beach facilities. They have a lot invested there, I seriously doubt any changes are coming.

Why do people here feel the need to look to create commotion.

I bought a proper digital camera. I was originally thinking of a dSLR but then decided I didn't want to lug it around and it would be more difficult to stash on the beach. Decided that a waterproof camera was more what I wanted, point and shoot. Settled on an Olympus Tough TG-1, I love it, there are a few little things I would have changed but it's mostly because of preference. I've always had a point and shoot, but frequently use my phone.

I highly recommend a camera.

I'm still interested in what made you sick. Did the guys that you were supposed to meet in South Beach drug you? (date rape drug possibly, which would explain why they wanted you to go out with them so badly)

My parents did this once. They were doing a back to back (2 diff cruise lines). They won a couple bottles of champagne on the first cruise, and also bought a couple to board with. When they arrived at the second ship they explained that they had not planned on having the extra but had won it. The lady was really nasty to them, which was aggrevated my father, not that they confiscated his two extra bottles. It was returned on the last night of the cruise.

He tucked it away with life preservers for the next cruisers to find, back when you had to take the life preservers to muster.
