  1. My first cruise ever I received an upgraded cabin at check in. I was moved from an interior room to a OV on the spa deck. This is when the conquest had these amazing bay window looking OV's. It was an amazing room and we enjoyed it!! So yes, the OP could have received this amazing deal. I hope you enjoy your room!

  2. We were on the Triumph out of New Orleans this year. We became friendly with one of the bartenders at the Atrium bar. Always tipping her a dollar or two per drink. We are not huge drinkers but usually went there to buy our drinks. At the end of our trip she sent two carnival robes to our room as a gift with a note thanking us. With them trying to save money and send a lot back homes to their families....this was one of the most heart felt gifts I have received!

  3. If you are comfortable in your tux and formal attire, wear it! You will be shinning bright. I have seen military class A's to tux and long beautiful formals. Most people will be dressed down in slacks with a evening jacket to cocktail dresses. You will not stand out in a negative way with your formal attire but in a positive way.

There will be a electric white night (believe that is what its called) held in one of the lounges. You get $1.00 off drinks if you participate. They will have a Mexican fiesta on the lido one night where they have salsa music and a Mexican buffet. Its pretty fun to join in.

Food is not bad but not extraordinary either. Definitely try the desserts mentioned above if you like sweets.

The ship is not a new one so be prepared for some worn looking areas. The staff does an excellent job at keeping her clean. I hope you have a great time on her. I have sailed on her three times and loved every time.

  4. The beach is about a block in a half from where they drop you off. If you are facing town the Corona Beach party is to your right of the pier and restaurants etc are to the left. You can sit in any of the chairs and tables on the beach and they will wait on you from the restaurants across the street. Be advised vendors will hound you to death. None are pushy that I have seen. A polite no and they walk away. There will be one right behind them for sure and another and another. They are trying to make some money and no one can blame them but I would like to relax and not have people approach me all day. Everyone is different on their views on this.

  5. People handle day to day life differently and what they stress about. I have a job that is stressful and I am on my guard all day. So, do I get irritated at some things while cruising...yes. Stressed, not at all. Irritated that my drink has run out for one. I let go and actually relax to the fullest. Waiting in line doesn't even bother me. I try and talk to the people around me and enjoy their conversation. I have had some really interested conversations with people.

  6. I would bring it also and set it up. The porters will tell you if they are not aloud on that particular ship. There are plenty of room for it where you are talking about. I think its a perfect solution since you plan on staying on the deck all day. Place for them to take nap and play in. Good luck and enjoy your cruise.

  7. We missed out on the last ones also. We are wanting to book two cruises and it would be great to have a reduced amount to put down. But, with us trying to pay the cruise off for next month we did not check into the sales. Always the next time......

  8. Everyone will have plenty of suggestions for you. The excursion you are talking about will allow you to share the floats etc. I believe they give you an arm band, they use to anyway. I absolutely love Roatan!! One of my favorite places to visit. You may want to explore many possibilities there then just carnival excursions. Little French Key (actual LFK and not thru carnival) is an amazing little island and absolutely stunning. Have fun on your cruise and the Dream is a great ship!

  9. I would be pick the Dream....7 days of cruising over 5 any day. Plus the ports are so much better on the dream. I have been on the elation twice with those ports the Triumph will be doing and have a blast each time. I will be on the Triumph for the first time in May. I say dream because I love the ship and the ports. Good luck!

  10. I have been in a cloud 9 spa on the dream this past September. First time was a balcony. Love cloud 9 spa!! The therma pool is hands down the best. Not to mention the saunas, showers, relaxing rooms facing the water in some awesome chairs that are made out of stone. They really are most comfortable. There is a you tube video that shows the cloud 9 spa on the dream in detail. I promise you will not be disappointed!! Let us know what you decide.

  11. You will know if the room is completed usually if the door is closed. Yes, the corridor doors will be closed and someone most often stops you. Just tell them your cabin number and say you have fttf. If your room is not ready just set your things down and go have a nice lunch and explore a little. They are working as fast as they can. Luggage has been in my room once we have lunch and a couple of drinks and go to the room. Have fun and hope this helps. Most definitely before we set sail our luggage arrives.
