  1. We sailed thru a tropical storm a couple of years ago - and the island was torn up when we got there. However - we are booked again this year - i want to see all that i didn't get to see then :) We cruise on Oct 15th and we will be in Bermuda the 18th - 20th.

    Happy cruising!

  2. So we are not sailing out of Port Canaveral but we do have a stop there in December. My husband said he liked the idea of a helicopter flight tour and i found 2 companies: Beachside Helicopters and Florida Air Tours.

Has anybody used either of these? And any idea on transportation to them? I think they both operate out of the Merritt Island Airport - but Florida Air Tours also has a Port Canaveral address.... My next step is to call them - i just figured i would ask here first.

    Thanx!

  3. I booked Dec 11 sailing on the Pride and finally started researching and i found the link to this review on another board. The fact that you are still getting comments on it over a year later is amazing.

I wanted to say i totally enjoyed sailing with you! As that is what reading the review felt like. My husband just does not understand how i can read so much before a cruise and still want to go on the cruise lol.

I was an RCI girl - and enjoyed the Grandeur - but then we took my dad on a cruise out of Galveston and only Carnival had the shorter trips so we tried the Freedom - and loved it. Well - not the ship layout so much - but we actually enjoyed the food (Guys/Cantina/Pizza) so much more! I don't think we ever ate in the buffet. So i was really glad to see the layout of the Pride should be better. I also saw someone ask about the lower deck chairs - and i think that is an RCI thing as all of their ships i have been on have had them - and that was my favorite spot. I have only been on Carnival Freedom but from other reviews and comments i haven't found a Carnival ship that has lower deck chairs yet.

Well i am rambling - Thank you for your time and effort - Happy cruising - and i am off to find Mitsugirly's review - and to read your Fantasy review as i have that one booked for Sept...

  4. I read the thread from a couple of months ago - and it looks like - although a few people have had a bad experience - most say that clearing immigration doesn't take long. So - now i guess i am looking for opinions...

We will be arriving via the Grandeur of the Seas on 10/29 and we have a non-RCI excursion booked in Key West for 9:30 am. We were originally scheduled to dock at 7 am - and i figured that would allow for plenty of time - but they have changed the itinerary so that we are now supposed to dock at 8 am. And we are supposed to meet for the excursion a few blocks from the terminal (Greene St and Elizabeth St). And - ideally - we should be there 30 min prior to the scheduled departure.

So - if we follow all the rules - go early if possible - etc... Is it reasonable for us to make it to this excursion on time? Or should i go ahead and cancel?

    Thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanx!!

  5. I'm looking at a cruise that would put me in Bermuda sometime during the first half of October. Is the water too cold at that time to swim and/or snorkel? What about the air temp? If i can't swim can i at least relax on the beach?

    Thanx!
