We were supposed to be on the trip you took last year but had to cancel. Still have much of your original information. Are booked sailing this October 26th, Splendors of Southern Spain with a similar itinerary. Any further wisdom you could provide for this voyage much appreciated.

Embarking on the Oct. 26th Windsurf Southern Spain. Hoping someone could suggest what amount of Euros we should bring with us from the States and offer assistance on accessing cash once in Europe or onboard?

I think one of the things you need to do is separate price from value. We felt that in Windstar we got better service, better food, better entertainment, better cabin layout, and one big thing--there were a few crew members/officers on the PG that made us feel anything but welcome, something we never ran into on Windstar. When it came down to it, we felt we got better value for our money on Windstar.

We took the PG for 10 nights 2 years ago. Thought it was the best trip we had ever taken. Am registered for Windstar Culinary/Wine cruise, Barcelona to Lisbon this Nov. If Windstar is "better" or more special in any way, I'm sure to be delirious!

My husband and I have just booked the November Culinary and Wine cruise. Very excited about it and have never been to either Spain or Portugal. Took a small ship cruise on the Paul Gauguin in Sept 2012 and will never sail a large boat again!

Have a question or two. I am wondering what the 5% discount milepig was referring to? We have received a $200 shipboard credit but remain unaware of any other discount.

I was also wondering if anyone was considering the add on pre/post trip in either Barcelona or Lisbon. And if so, are you going with the hotels sponsored by the cruiseline? The price seems a bit high but include transfers to ship...which I don't know is of any significant value. Would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks!

Booked with Christophe rather than Patrick who was very uncertain in his replies. Christophe responded quickly and helped make me feel that we were going to get the day we planned on. On Christophe's second boat.
