We loved the Falconry Center.  It was one of our most favourite excursions on our 3 week cruise.  The Krka National Park was fairly ordinary for us and not worth the trip down and up.  If we were to do it again, we would just book a private tour to the Falconry Center and skip Krka Falls.

However, many people here really enjoyed the Krka Falls.  Much has been written on this topic recently and if you search "Krka", I think you will find many opinions from others who have been on these excursions.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the info and quick response!

We have booked this excursion with Viking out of Zadar:

Krka National Park & Dubrava Falconry Center

It is from 8:30-3:30 and the ship departs Zadar at 4:00.  I think it is just less than an hour from the port.

How was the Krka excursion and Falconry Center?  We're trying to decide which of the 2 Krka options to book:  "Krka National Park & Zadar" or "Krka National Park & Dubrava Falconry Center".

  3. We have a pre-cruise extension prior to an Alaska cruise on Viking Orion, with flights departing one month from today.  We received this email from Viking this morning:

    20JUN2022

    Dear Viking Guest,

Thank you for booking your upcoming journey with Viking. As you know, we require that all guests and crew be up to date on their COVID-19 immunization. Viking has partnered with VeriFLY, an independent third-party vendor, to digitally certify your vaccination status ahead of departure.

Please complete the certification process on the VeriFLY app as soon as you are able.

    • Download the app at the following links.
      - Apple IOS
      - Android
    • The VeriFLY app will guide you through each step of the process.
    • Should you need additional guidance, we have also prepared a step-by-step guide for your reference.

Once you have completed the VeriFLY process, Viking will receive confirmation of your vaccination status. (NOTE: Some airlines and countries have also partnered with VeriFLY and may require you to complete a separate VeriFLY certification process.)

Please ensure you also carry your original vaccination documentation while traveling as you may need to present proof of vaccination at other points during your trip.

If you have any questions regarding the VeriFLY process, please contact VeriFLY Customer Support at 1-813-392-4332 or support@myverifly.com. Many questions may be answered at VeriFLY's online Help Center or accessible from within the app.
We thank you for your cooperation and wish you a wonderful journey.

    Sincerely,

    Viking

But it’s way too bright in the middle of the night. On our recent TA I brought a small nite light to plug into the razor socket under the shelf in the bathroom—it was perfect for low light navigation in the wee hours.

We bring small battery operated LED candles for the bathroom.  They work great to provide just enough light.

Final note~ all our excursions were deleted from our account on the second day and show as credit voucher. I had booked a couple of spa treatments that show as appointments on my calendar until you actually pay at the time of treatment service so no issue with them.

I'm sorry to hear you are in quarantine.  This is my biggest fear for my upcoming Alaska cruise.

Is your excursion credit voucher good toward a future cruise or actual money back?

Have you been able to enjoy some scenery from your balcony?

You're looking at  a post made 3 1/2 months ago, and protocols could have changed numerous times since then.

You want to determine what's needed now, not what was needed months ago.

Thanks.  Viking still has the same testing requirements (PCR test taken within 72 hours /or/ Antigen test taken within 24 hours), so I was just wondering if the Walgreen's NAAT test was attempted/accepted.

jmfdr; Thank you for sharing your experience.

I was feeling pretty good about the NAAT test in light of Australia08"s comment...

But then Viking put out a new document under the Resources Tab with different verbiage. While the previous "IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR CRUISE" document explicitly referenced NAAT tests as acceptable, the new language, effective January 21, 2022, indicates passengers need:

    3. Proof of negative COVID-19 Test – with a laboratory-certified proof of negative result..

                 - PCR test taken within 72 hours of boarding first outbound flight from home country, or

                 - Antigen test taken within 24 hours of boarding first outbound flight from home country

                 - Viking will accept select at-home COVID-19 tests.

The prior reference to NAAT tests is no longer there.  The NAAT language in included, however, under the "ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS IF TRAVELING FROM OUTSIDE THE US" section, which indicates such passengers need:

    1. Proof of negative COVID-19 NAAT/PCR or antigen test, taken no more than one (1) day prior to flying to the US.

It is my understanding that both a PCR test and a NAAT test are similar in that they are both molecular diagnostic tests, but I don't think this technically makes a NAAT test a type of PCR test. I have written to Viking with the hope of getting a written clarification, I just wish Viking was consistent in their descriptions of what we need to travel. We have relatively easy access to NAAT testing with quick turnaround times, but finding a PCR test with quick turnaround times is proving difficult.

Which test did you end up taking for your Viking cruise?

I don't mean to offend you in any way, but why would you not purchase a GoPro (or any other camera) prior to a voyage? Many, many years ago you may have been able to score a better deal by buying  aboard a ship, but now you will pay much more than the best price you can find elsewhere.

I agree. We are currently on the Orion and the gift shop isn’t fully stock. Most of their  items haven’t been replaced due to supply lines. I suggest you purchase at your home.

Thanks.  We have a shipboard credit, so I was just thinking ahead.

I just took a look at my BOOKING & ORDER DETAILS page on the Carnival website for our 8/7/21 Mardi Gras sailing.

OK... it's just Cheryl and me on this sailing... and I have no idea who these other people could be (from this or past sailings)! Anyone else have errant info showing up here?

Did you ever find out what this meant?  I just added a booking number for an upcoming cruise, and I have 14 "Additional Cruise Companions" listed, and I don't know any of them.

  10. Glad it was helpful! That's why I dragged all that ephemera home in my carry on bag ;)

Have a wonderful cruise! FP is an amazing place!

Thank you for your wonderful review and photos!

We will be on the Paul Gauguin for the first time in April.

I have a couple questions I was hoping you could answer.

Do any of the restaurants have tables for 12?

We made our own flight reservations, and we have a late flight (11:15pm) the day the cruise ends. Do you know if they offered any excursions/transfers/day hotels for this last day?

    Thanks,

    Debbie
