  1. The lunch depends on the ship and how many consecutive cruisers.  Our last B2B on the Harmony the lunch was a buffet in the solarium bistro, the same food as the other guests. Another B2B lunch was nice and served in the MDR.

Big shocker that next cruise gave you the wrong information.  You started in Brisbane.  That is all that matters.  you could sail as long as you like and end anywhere and you would not be in violation of the PVSA as the PVSA only applies to cruises where your initial embarkation port is a US port.

As I mentioned I had two clients (one on your sailing), that carried on and did the first Alaska cruise.

I totally believe you but I just called RCI to add the 4th leg onto my cruise which would be a Alaska cruise from Vancouver ending in Seattle and they told me I can’t do it as it is a violation. I informed them several times that I was starting in Sydney. They told me because of the stop in Hawaii it was a red flag!!  I really don’t think the people answering the phones have any clue about what they are talking about.  Thinking I’m going to book it myself online….

That sailing is perfectly fine.  Starts in Sydney ends in Seattle.  100% no issues, I had 2 clients do this exact itinerary this past May.

Yours wasn't as it started in LA and ended in Seattle....started in one US port ended in a different US port and did not visit a distant foreign port.

Thank you for clarifying in simple terms

Well, now you are changing the parameters of the discussion, as the OP didn't embark in Hawaii. That's a very different set of circumstances and would indeed be a violation of the PVSA.

I think that’s what I read a few months ago that someone received an email from RCI 30 days prior to their cruises and were in violation and it was cancelled.

I’m not an expert, but I am not sure it will be allowed.  The fine is pretty stiff if CBP decides it violates PVSA (Jones is cargo).  Could you disembark at Vancouver and board a different ship for an Alaskan cruise?

I seem to recall threads in years past when a cruiseline (I don’t recall which one) initially said yes to a similar request then later (shortly before the cruise) decided they could not allowed it. A much worse spot for the passengers…

    That’s what I remember too

Planning on staying on the same ship

  7. I’m confused about the Jones Act looking for an answer. Flying to Sydney from the United States. Doing multiple B2B, which includes a stop in Hawaii then goes to Vancouver, BC. Then doing an Alaska cruise that ends in Seattle.  Is this allowed since we board the ship in Sydney not boarding in Hawaii? Sorry if this sounds confusing.

    Thank you

  8. I know that when you pick a gty cabin you get your assignment anytime, usually closer to the sail date. But does anyone actually know how it works?  Does RCI hold back certain cabins or are they cabins that are listed to pick from but don’t get booked?  TIA

I tried it on oasis and allure have same opinion as you , pre- Covid I liked the cheese tray which they wheeled out and you could pick what you want, that has been discontinued.

On the Harmony in January they still wheeled out the cheese tray, maybe it was discontinued after January?

So, I'd bought two packages.   We have two rooms with DH in one and Me in the other.  It shows only $50 OBC, but then it still shows the pass.

Do you have 2 reservation numbers? I booked 3 packages for 3 different reservations/cabins, the OBC was given to each reservation number/cabin.  A nice treat for our guests

There is some fine print, "More than two packages purchased at the same time will only be refunded the purchase price with no OBC applied."  😉

That could be if the buyer cancelled not the company?  Maybe, just a thought 🤔. It’s very confusing since RC sold a program that didn’t exist. I’ll be happy with my refund, no harm done. 🥂
