  1. Not fair that a lot of us will not know our waiters names right away anymore in the MDR. They are so busy with getting menus and serving food, and catering to whims all over the place.

At least we can always take the ship picture out and use the new crystal for our favorite picture.

Isn't that where they are getting them from?

  2. Seven tug boats have come to the aid of a container ship that ran aground in the Suez Canal on Tuesday and blocked other vessels from transiting one of the world's most important waterways.

Shiptracking data on Refinitiv Eikon showed the tug boats surrounding the Rotterdam-bound vessel, which appeared in the tracking maps to still be grounded.

The 200,000-tonne vessel enroute from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean ran aground at about 7:40 a.m. (05:40 GMT) on Tuesday after the ship suffered a blackout, port agents GAC said on its website.

GAC said 15 other ships in the northbound convoy behind the vessel were detained at anchorages waiting for the canal to be cleared. A southbound convoy was also blocked, it said.

The container ship, the Ever Given, is 400 meters long (1,312 feet), 59 meters wide (193 feet), and can carry up to 20,000 20-foot equivalent (TEU) shipping containers.

Why didn't this happen while we were going through the Suez Canal!! We could have had a longer cruise! 🙁

  3. Virgin Voyages is closing the list on February 14, 2018, per their recent Facebook post:

Last call for love. Well not really. We’ll always love ya. But it is last call for deposits! Because of all the love we’ve been getting so far, we’re closing our pre-sale access list sooner than planned. So seas this time of love. (Sea what we did there?) Get On The List before it closes on Valentine’s Day. http://*******/2Ee3iZu
  4. Looks like the settlement might be around $6 each.

The Court has authorized this supplemental e-mail Notice to inform consumers who have filed claims that, to date, over two million claims have been filed seeking to recover from a Settlement Fund expected to total $12.5 million.

Due to the large number of claims, the individual recovery per consumer will be a pro rata share of the Settlement Fund. The exact per consumer recovery is still unknown, but it is expected to amount to several dollars per Class Member.

  7. While we moan and groan about getting started with participating in the M&M thread plenty of us want, are there fun or real reasons we don't have a Symphony Of The Seas Meet & Mingle board yet? I'll start first:

Main Forum Creator is on a Crystal Symphony cruise right now, and checking email to see a request for a Symphony M&M Board is causing a flux capacitor time warp.

Maybe the naming conventions of Crystal Symphony and Symphony Of The Seas will somehow cause back-end database problems?

  8. Booked for January 12, 2019. It let me book a 2 bedroom aqua theater suite for 2 people and I thought it was a good price. Cannot touch that room on Harmony for what I got it for. Now let me see who to invite to go with us.

Saw some unbelievable prices on Aqua Theater Suites, until finding out they were 6D Balcony because RCI was showing the deck plans for Harmony at first. For example, Suites 14330 and 14370 on Harmony are Aqua Theater, but not on Symphony.

It does appear that Symphony deck plans are now updated: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/ship/decks/deck/home.do?deckCode=14&shipCode=SY&shipProfile=1820&sailDate=1180421&hasNavigation=false

  9. Bubbles N' Lunch Galley Tour

    2 Hours - $35 Adult / $20 Child

Ever wondered how our chefs can feed so many people at once? Get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of larger than life kitchen operations as you tour our Galley before a spectacular lunch paired with a glass of bubbly.

    • The tour will be hosted by our Executive Chef, Restaurant Operations Manager and the Culinary Team.
    • Following the tour, you will enjoy in our Dining room a vast selection of culinary treats, as well as a private luncheon menu chosen specially for you by our Executive Chef.
    • Bubbles n' lunch galley tour can be included in the 3-4 or 5 dining Package
    • Dress code required when visiting the galley for safety reasons: no flip-flops

Have you or will you be doing this tour? It seems to be offered on the last sea day, and bookable online about a couple of months before sailing. We've decided to book this for an upcoming cruise (makes up for one of us missing out on a previous All-Access Tour).

  10. Is there (or will there be?) a feature or tool other than the normal Search, to find others that will be or have been on more than X of the same cruises as you?

    Example Scenario

Jo927881623FLL goes to the Sexant Degrees Of Separation tool and selects from a drop-down most of the cruises taken in the past, and a couple of future cruises and optionally selects 3+Degrees.

The results then show that on three of the cruises Jo has been on, Sam111000222 has also been on!
