Would love to know who our CD is on Mariner 12/4/21 sailing. Want to try to find out if there is any way to get pickleball going on the ship.
Eric the Activities Manager was promoted to the Cruise Director for Halloween when Marcelo left

No biggie. I haven't purchased anything so I'm all good. It's only a 3 night cruise so I can't ditch the family dinners.
-
Not sure if anyone knows but I figured I'd find out more here then calling Royal direct.
Usually we get the Unlimited Dining Package and just eat in the specialty restaurants and have no issues.
But we are traveling with 62 family members at the end of the month on Mariner and are doing dinner together nightly in the main dining room.
If we purchase the Unlimited Dining Package can we use it in the main dining room to order from the Chops menu (lobster and/or Filet)

I just got off the Mariner and with out a doubt Marcelo ( he nicknames himself marshmallow) is the worst cruise director I have ever had in almost 100 cruises. The guy spent every chance he could get reprimanding or putting down his audience. I was with him in the elevator and he did not speak a word. It seems he and his sidekick (asst. cruise director) Gemma spend the vast majority of their time entertaining each other. They must be really digging into the bottom of the barrel for cruise directors these days.
I agree with you on Marcelo he is the absolute worst and very insulting. Gemma is great though. When you can catch her away from him she is very entertaining and a blast but when she is with him she has to follow his lead. Gemma walks the ship all day and will say hi and stop and talk to anyone.

Moe got switched to Allure instead of CocoCay.
Mariner is Gemma for 4 months.

Ricky Mathews is leaving Mariner May 31st, any idea who's taking his place?
Heard it's someone new from outside the company but no one had a name

We did it on Oasis last year. A lot of people dressed up including us but it wasn’t that good. We stayed for about 30 minutes and left. I think it all depends on the other people that go if hey get into it or not. Unfortunately no one really got up and danced or socialized at the one we were at.

We just got a similar email changing our Majesty sailing to Enchantment.
I'll be thrilled if that means Port Canaveral is getting the Enchantment back for a bit
-
I will update the list later today......do you know who has replaced Moe on MJ?
Maui is the new attitude manager. Moe is only on Oasis for a month and then vacation.

Moe left Majesty today and flew from Nassau back to Orlando to join Oasis Sunday for a month.

I think Majesty started doing the extra Chlorine wash outs in the pipes after a couple of people contracted Legionnaires' disease on the ship.

Hmmm maybe they will let some of us locals jump on before they leave (if they ever leave) for a discounted rate.

1. Is there any covering from above/shade for the rear facing Jr. Suite 8170? About a foot or so shaded the rest open. We had the rfs on the corner and peeked over
2. Are there loungers on the balcony? I think only chairs the rfs on the corner has loungers
3. Chef’s Table - worth it on a 3 nighter? Have never done it.
4. Are there any private excursions on Cococay or is what you see what you get. We want to rent jet skis for a few hours - we both drive them so just want to rent/not a slow tour. You can rent them but it is a tour but they let you go fast
5. Can you order alcoholic drinks through room service and how long does it take? Yes but your package won't work you will have to pay. Depends on the time and if they are busy for how long it takes. We've had items arrive in 20 minutes to over an hour.
6. What time do you need to disembark by? The latest we have gotten off the ship was 930 or so in Port Canaveral
7. Parking in Miami - just use the port’s lot? Don't know sorry
8. Is the casino any good? We play craps. The casino is nice a little small but the tables are never too crowded.

We were told its against Coast Guard regulations to have the dividers open while sailing.

First off I never said we were bff's. I did not respond and don't plan on responding. I have reported the post and have blocked/unfriended the person.
We have been on multiple (9) cruises with this staff member so yes that is how we befriended them.
-
I understand that they are there to work and are not "friends". I guess I would have expected the message from someone in housekeeping or waitstaff but this is a person on the Cruise Directors Staff.
-
I guess I'm not absolutely sure that they haven't been hacked but in the message to me they have listed their next ship and start date.
-
We have befriended a few employees over the years while on a ship and have become friends on Facebook. Yesterday and this morning I got a message from an activities staff member asking me for money. The message I received yesterday was strange asking to loan them $600.00. I felt very strange and did not respond hoping that maybe their account was hacked or something. This morning I received another message asking if I got the original message and saying they would take $500.00 and pay us back in March when their next contract starts. I am weirded out with them asking me for money. We are not THAT close. We talk when we are on a cruise they are working on and have only put a Facebook message out there asking if they were working a certain ship or the employee asking when our next cruise was going to be. I’m just wondering if anyone has ever had this happen to them and how they handled it. And no I will not be giving them any money.

We are bringing my parents on a cruise this weekend and my Dad is wanting to look for a tobacco pipe. He doesn't want plastic or a filter. Anyone know if there is someplace I can take him in Nassau for a pipe.

I hear Moe's voice on Enchantment as the Activities Manager

FYI in April Catalina moved to Future Bookings on Enchantment

1. There are no reservations for the shows. Usually crowded but always seats available. We take the 3 day cruise. Night 1 usually has the Welcome aboard show pretty quick and a guest magician or comedian. Night 3 has Stage to Screen. There is usually an early and late seating show. You can go to whichever one that works around dinner plans. I've seen people show up early and some as the curtains are raising.
2. Rooms open around 1:30. We like to board early to start our vacation. Lunch opens at 11:30
Not sure about room service on day 1 we usually only get it late at night after drinking and partying.
3. We use my time dining but usually schedule in an advance the time we want to eat so we have no wait. My time dining in in the upstairs dining room. Scheduled dining is in the downstairs dining room. If you want to eat together call royal and all switch to my time dining or a set time. They can link the reservations.
4. Yes if there is one it is posted on the excursion site. There is no zip line. Not sure about the rock climbing wall. But I can look in 2 weeks when we are back on the ship.
5. Coco cay depends on the weather. Out of 9 cruises we have only missed Coco Cay once
6. I can't answer this one. It depends on what you like. We don't do excursions on our short cruises since we like to go with the flow and not have a set thing to do.
Hope that helps
Any other tips would be helpful! Sorry so long! Nervous and excited for our June cruise!
