  1. Hi Rich,

Just shows how everybody has different opinions.

We loved the Arcadia as its an adult only, and we like the formal feel.

We tried Ventura and didn't like it as much as we felt it was too informal.

That's what's cruising is all about tho.

We were on the Arcadia when the sea was calm all the time so not sure how bad it could be.

    Anyway happy cruising......

Indeed different ships suit different people, we also have had great cruises with Fred Olsen, Balmoral in particular is one of our favourites, smaller but able to get into ports the larger ships cannot get to.

Arcadia we felt was just a bit to formal for us, i understand that there a lots who enjoy that, as you do, its just not for us

The rolling and pitching just about put paid to us sailing on her again!!

  2. Been on Arcadia before, its a very formal Adults only ship, my wife and i found it to be a bit too "stiff" and prefer Ventura and Aurora.

The buffet at the top of the ship was nothing special, room service for snacks is a better option in the evenings.

Also (i don`t know if anyone feels the same) its the most unstable ship we have ever been on, a slight swell and its seems to pitch and roll, a force 7 in Biscay and it was dreadful, we have been through similar conditions on other ships without the drama of Arcadia

We will continue to sail with P & O but we never look for Arcadia cruises now
