We are on Sojourn Singapore (3/22)  to Sydney (4/29). We have been worrying about the same thing as many other guests. What if someone gets the Corona Virus while in Singapore or along the way? Does that mean we will all be quarantined? We received notification that there will be an itinerary change but have not been told what the change will be. I am hoping they will avoid Asia altogether but I guess that is doubtful. We were offered at our option to cancel and rebook another cruise with the stipulation that the new cruise is 100% nonrefundable and must have the same base rate. I called Seabourn to see what options that would afford me because I have no way of knowing the "base rate" and they referred us to ICON which is the company through which we booked the cruise originally. I sent an email to ICON and hope to have a response within a few days.  I would like to know what the new itinerary will be before making a decision as to whether to cancel and rebook. Also I need to determine whether my return airfare from Sydney which is non-refundable could still be used with the new itinerary. This has been an extremely difficult situation for all the passengers not knowing what will happen next. I appreciate that Seabourn is willing to do a cancel and rebook. At this point I only wish I had the information needed to decide if this option will work for us.  If anyone hears what itinerary changes there will be for Sojourn please let us know. I am aware the ship will not stop in Hong Kong however, Singapore has as many if not more cases than Hong Kong. Other countries such as Thailand have cases as well. AT present these are all stops for Sojourn.

Just noticed these revised itinerary maps for Sojourn on the Seabourn website...the detailed written itinerary has not been updated, however. Interesting.....

  2. After 50+ cruises (all the major lines), my husband and I just ventured on our first “luxury” line....Seabourn. Wow!! What a fantastic experience! Very gay friendly, all-inclusive top of the line food/drink and service! We’re in our mid 50’s and were in the younger half but didn’t care. The passengers and crew were super friendly. The ship was upscale modern but not stuffy. It really spoils you for anything else! I wholeheartedly recommend!!

  3. Ditto to the above comments. We flew out of SXM last Saturday on Delta to ATL. Check-in for the 3:45om flight doesn’t begin until 1pm so no need to rush getting there. We took the Seabourn excursion that offered an island tour before dropping off at the airport at 12:30...plenty of time! The check-in and security lines moved quickly....then you are deposited into a huge, crowded hall to wait until your flight is called for boarding. We lucked out and found two seats but many did not...two hours of bad WiFi and we were finally on our way. The boarding was chaotic and all flights were using buses and outside stairs. Not a great experience but still worth it for Seabourn!

  4. I’ll be sailing out of Barbados on the Oydessy in a week. Does anyone have experience on getting a suite change at check-in? We booked a veranda guarantee and were assigned suite 715...wheelchair access suite. I’ve noticed that there are still many unassigned suites in the same category or less. I called SB but they couldn’t make a change this close to sailing. I was thinking of asking about changing to non-wheelchair room, if avail, when we check-in...anyone have results doing this?

I realize that I took a chance when selecting a guarantee suite...so not a huge deal either way!

  5. You can't go wrong with either ship!

The Regal is beautiful with good service and food choices. There are approx. 1000 more passengers on the Regal than the NA....the ship is huge and lots of walking involved to get from A to B. We had an Owner's Suite on the back of the ship....didn't think it was worth the extra cost (plus too far away from everything).

I personally prefer the NA. It has a modern styling to go with all the HAL "traditions". I also prefer the HAL specialty restaurants to those of Princess.

That being said, both of these ship are at the top of their league!!

  6. My group of four will be in port (Warnemunde) from 8am-3am.....so no worries about making it back to ship. We've scheduled a private bike tour in Berlin starting at 2pm for 4 1/2 hours.

We're trying to figure out the best transport option to get to Berlin and maximize our time there. Does anyone have info on hiring a private taxi or transport one way to Berlin? If so, how expensive?

We can return on the 8:45pm train for 40 Euro pp. The train schedule to get to Berlin might work bur leaves at 8:03am....3 minutes after ship arrival so not sure about that!

Any advice would be much appreciated!!!
