  1. It seems that people have had different experiences at terminal #5,  but as someone who used that terminal 3 times in May, and twice in December, I always pay as I entered the garage. And that's the fact, by paying up front on a B2B, I only paid for the first cruise, and a "freebie" on the second half. That is NOT the case for other terminals.

After looking at my sign/sail cards, that was late April, not May. Sorry about the time period.

  2. Thanks OP for the info. I called Royal on 3 cruises I had booked,  and I know it paid off. On my cruises:      #1, I received just a $20.00 reduction.

        #2, received a $150.00 OBC.

#3, received an upgrade from O.V to balcony and a "credit" of $218.00 to be applied to my credit card.

    Again thanks, very helpful.

  3. As a solo cruiser the prices that were offered on MSC was a "no brainer". I booked a couple of cruises for Sept & Oct on the Divina. I did make the bookings a few months ago, and thought I did very well on cabin selection and OBC also. Since those bookings I have notice that prices are going up, as well as little or no OBC. But I'm looking forward to experiencing what MSC has to offer.

  4. This morning I notice that NCL decided to keep the "Sun" cruising out of the Florida, (instead of Alaska) for the summer. Of course that remains to be seen, due to the virus. On their website dates are shown from June on. I'm glad to see that NCL decided to keep a ship located there for the summer. As a resident of florida, I enjoy the short 5 day cruises. Just a short drive, no overnite stays, and boarding a smaller ship makes it easy on/off. What do others think of their decision.

  5. I would just like to make a few comments on Royals customer service. While I'm NOT " loyal to Royal" I just received a call from my rep, regarding my cancellation of Sept 2, and assuring me of my future cruise credit on said cruise. I have to say it was nice to have someone call me and "update" on my future cruise. While I still look to my best possible deals, it's good to know that their customer service is interested in my future cruises.

  6. I have to differ from most. I live in Florida, travel solo and available to cruise within 24 hours. Most of my sailings came at rock bottom pricing by waiting very close to sailing date. Of course that comes at a cost on cabin selection, at which I don't really care. It's only to sleep and shower.

What the hell ar you talking about?  This is happning to me.  That's why I'm pissed.  I paid for the room I wanted, and now I'm being kicked out and do not know where I will land.  There better be a refund or something....

My reply was intended for "MisterBill99". I'm going thru the same, sorry! If you look at the quote, it was back to him!

Not BS. If you use a travel agent, you have to go thru them for changes to your reservation.  And presumably they TA should have notified you of the change, but that assumes that Royal told them about it.

Why don't you just call your TA and ask them to change your cabin?

And would it have been better if they'd just changed your cabin and not moved you to a GTY? Also, someone suggested that some cabin capacities had changed. Is that your situation? If it is, then I'm not sure what you would have expected them to do.

I don't believe you have any idea on what is happening. As for myself, I deal directly thru RCL, which NEVER notified me of any changes. I found out by logging into my "planner". And was also told that this may happen to me again. Unless you are the one this is happening to you  REALLY don't have any idea of what is going on!

  9. FYI, I just got off the Sky this past Saturday. This ship just had a drydock in January with a few major changes. Some new bar venues, like the Bliss lounge and The Local bar and grill along with a Starbucks have been added. Much of the general areas have new furniture and décor. I believe no changes were made to most, if not all cabins.  I had my doubts on cruising the Sky, but after the 5-day cruise, I would not hesitate to cruise her again.

What is their cancellation policy this far in advance ?

According to this it looks like 90 days full refund, if that is the case any risk in booking?

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/booking-cancellation-refund-policy

Update:  It looks like you lose $250 which is the minimum deposit

You actually don't lose the whole $250.00. You will lose $100.00 of it, and the other $150.00 can be used for a future booking within 12 months of cancellation.

  11. I'm sailing solo in 3 weeks, in a studio cabin. I've noticed the pricing on an interior with one perk is now 70.00 cheaper than I paid. I contacted NCL in expecting to upgrade and receive the difference of money paid in form of OBC. I was told that this was a "special" and I could not upgrade. I would like to hear from others if they were able to upgrade. I think I made have been misled.
