  1. We are just off the Carnival Pride and were in Freeport on Friday. We did the Carnival excursion called Bahamas Jeep Adventure and had a great time. Drove our own Jeep on a tour of the island - the guide is in the lead Jeep and gives information over a CB radio. We had about 2 hours of driving around on the tour including a little off road portion through the pine forest, then and hour at Garden of the Groves (lunch was included and we had it here) then about an hour at a beach (Manta Ray Beach Club, I think it was called).

All of it was really good except the beach part - it’s very rocky and definitely doesn’t hold a candle to Half Moon Cay, which we visited the day before.

  2. Right in the port area, there used to be a few little huts with food. One was known for their “lobster burgers” and another had the best mango daiquiri I’ve ever had, anywhere. Last time we were there was 2013, I think - are those huts still there?

  3. We did the brewery excursion a few years ago. It was fun if you are brewery/try new beers people - it so happened it was Sunday when we were there, so there was no actual work going on. Basically, we got a quick walk through of the plant and then an hour+ in the tasting room drinking beer [emoji23].

  4. We had cabana #10 2 weeks ago, and it was delightful. I'd say it's a "very very nice to have" but not a "need to have" thing. It was just my husband and I, and we got more snacks and beverages than we could eat. The loungers were very comfy. I would definitely book one again if it was in the budget but if it was entirely out of the budget, wouldn't be terribly sad. The location of cabana 10 was great; I'd choose any of them between 7 and 12 as my first choice.

On Embarkation day, go directly to the excursion desk as soon as you board, and there you will choose your cabana number as well as provide your beverage choices and sizes for snorkel gear (included), etc.

  5. It's time to do our pre-cruise arrangements and I'm not sure what's best.

Our flight arrives around 8:45pm into FLL 2/20. We cruise from POM 2/21. Are we better served by staying in Fort Lauderdale that night, or going to Miami so we will already be there in the morning? Generally, I'm more concerned with convenience than cost (not that I want to spend crazy money on a hotel we'll be in for 12 hrs, and I've gathered that Miami is likely to be more expensive than Fort Lauderdale). We do want to be able to get some necessities like wine/soda/sunscreen and I'm guessing we'll need to do that in the a.m. due to the late time we're arriving.

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

  6. I do as others have mentioned. CC also has a fare tracker that you can set up and they email the price drops once weekly (Friday am). It probably is best to check more often on your own, but I look at the CC service as a "heads up" of what might be coming. For example, this week my price did not drop, but other Carnival sailings with same/similar itineraries leaving in the same month from the same port did. So, I will be checking my own booking a little more often now to see if that trend moves onto my sailing.

  7. We used it on the Ecstasy out of Port Canaveral. Our stateroom was ready when we boarded around 11:00. The luggage arrived just a few minutes after we did. Our main motivation for getting it was to have the early room availability to drop our bags and begin enjoying the ship, so it definitely delivered on that. We've purchased it again for our upcoming Glory cruise as well.

  8. If I lived close to a port, I'd consider scheduling time off and watching a particular cruise until the last week or so, figuring if I didn't get it at the price I wanted I could cancel my vacation time and start looking again.

However, currently we need to fly to almost any port, and I'm not comfortable leaving the cruise fare and flights to the last minute (plus it seems airfare almost always goes up closer to departure time, so it would likely not be a net savings anyway.)

  9. Just back from the Liberty and in my opinion FTTF is not worth it.

We enjoy the convenience of having our stateroom ready as soon as we board. We like to drop our bags and feel more free to explore the ship. FTTF gives us that option, so to us, it is worth it for that alone.

  10. Hmmm. We want it for our 2/21 sailing on Glory. It doesn't appear in the excursion list at all - not as "sold out" or otherwise. I asked my PVP and he said they wouldn't be loaded for a couple months? Yet clearly some of you have gotten them already for sailing dates much further in the future. I wonder what gives?
