Just reading the thread HH put a link to and it seems that you can register for this tour on the first morning after the ship departs port. Our crossing from Southampton actually starts in Hamburg so I’m hoping it’ll still be the case that they will be available on OUR first morning???

Yes. It will be the first morning of that segment of the trip. You’ll really enjoy it. It’s well worth the wait, standing around at the tour desk! I was just as excited about it. I did the touron my third trip on QM2. Enjoy your trip...I can’t think of a better way to start my birthday than standing at the top of the QM2 going underneath the Verrazano bridge into the NY Harbour! I will be a few weeks behind you on 4th November for trip 4!

Going back to post 14 - you’ll have to be at the tour desk early to book the ships tour. It goes on sale on the 1st morning after you leave Southampton at 9.00am. We had been told to get there early as places were limited. We arrived at about 8.10am and we 3rd and 4th in line. We signed a form that expressed an interest I. The tour, and later that day got an official invitation to the tour which would happen a few days later. People arriving at 9 were disappointed not to get on the tour. It was $120 each but well worth it.

Thanks Bell Boy. Combined with what I’ve read elsewhere and here I’ve cancelled the Grand Harbour. We were intrigued by Ennio’s boutique hotel so we’ve booked that instead. It gets good reviews and the menu looks good too!

Hi, does anyone have any recent experience of the Grand Harbour Hotel and the Marco Pierre White Restaurant. Have made a booking at the hotel for the night before a November TA, but the hotel reviews seem mixed. Thanks

Does everyone get a pre cruise booklet? Im on 5 Nov TA, booked cunard fare, but not received anything? Is it to do with status (we are gold). I keep seeing these on other social media, and wondered where these came from. Or perhaps they don't do them for TA's?

Thanks all for your responses. I use one of the sea scanner Apps to follow QM2 around wherever she is. That's a great picture from the ferry webcam, the clouds in the shot make for great effect. I will see if I can get lucky in two weeks when she's back in Southampton! Thanks for the tip. In between I will be watching the NYC harbour cam next Thursday! Hi All, so last night I watched QM2 leaving Hamburg on a webcam, and I also watch her on the NY harbour cam when she is there. If I've got a few minutes I enjoy watching her glide away, dreaming about my next trip (64 long days to go). Does anyone know of one that you can watch for Southampton? I can't seem to find one. Seems a shame that you can't do this in her home port! Thanks, Michael.

Hi

Just a quick one. We have just booked our third trip on the QM2. We did a WB TA in Nov 12 and the Fjords in Jul 2013, both of which we throughly enjoyed. We have decided to do another WB TA in November just for the sheer relaxation it gives us being away from everything for 7 days. Pure bliss!

My partner took a particular liking to a cocktail in the Commodore club which we think was called cool as a cucumber. Does anyone know if this is still available. Luckily it's not a deal breaker as its already booked. Thanks in advance!
