I'm pretty sure a curling iron is allowed. Not aware of any cruise lines that ban them.

Please note that (at least in my cabin) the electrical outlet at the desk was a 220 European outlet. The 110 American outlet was beside the bed. You'll have to curl from there unless you have an adapter.

Thanks for the info…I do have a European plug so I’ll be sure and bring it along!  That’ll help alot.

  2. Does anyone have any information on what to expect for Richards bday bash?  It is the Scarlet Lady 7/17 til 7/22.  This is our third attempt to make it.  2020 and 2021 were both cancelled.  Would love inside info…🤭

  3. When I made the reservation thru Carnival, the lady said to send the DD-214 to interline@carnival.com and I did.  When I called today to check on it I was told there is no such thing so now I’m just kind of confused.  My shareholder credit was there.

P.S.  I did get a confirmation email that they received it.

  4. We have sailed on both Carnival and Princess many, many times.  I have been able to request military credit and shareholders credit each time.  We are now scheduled on the Carnival Mardi Gras and I was told that in order to get the military credit I had to

book under a military rate.  Does anyone know if that is true and if so when it went into effect?

Under the "Booking and Order Details" tab, there should be a button called "View/Print Documents". Check "Print General Information" before clicking "View/Print Docs" button. It will be on the invoice and look something like this:

Also, Carnival offers military credits? How do I get this? Every time I make a booking, their military discount is barely $15 cheaper than the early saver rate. I always end up choosing the casino rate instead.

Thank you…there is one credit showing up.  Not sure which one it is but hopefully by Saturday they will both be shown.

I will roll the dice once in any casino. I have never booked a guarantee in the past because the difference in price was almost nothing. I find myself in Orlando next year, so I booked a cabin on Mardi Gras. My cost is only the taxes @ 233.48 for the TBA cabin. To pick my own cabin would have been $550. more. The selection of pick your own rooms was rather paltry, so I will save the money, and be delighted to sail in what I am dealt.  I am inclined to not do it again, though.

Are you saying the cabin was free and all you had to pay were the taxes?  I’ve never heard of a deal

    that good!

Humm I would have thought John H would have given them out given the Cruise is closed out for new bookings.  Thanks though

We just booked a balcony on deck 11 today so they must have reopened reservations.  There were quite a few cabins to choose from on their web site.

My only guesses about Richards Bday cruise being the anomaly are that Richard hasn't personally given in to cancelling his Bday trip and maybe they have a lot of special stuff booked that would be hard to reschedule, neither good reasons to waive safety of the crew and sailors though.

I wouldn’t think he would want to take a chance for his own health and well being.

  9. This is an email I received back today in my response to why the cruises before and after the bday bash are cancelled.  I’m still concerned about why they think it’s safe to do this cruise...especially since Sir Richard will be on the cruise.  I’d think he’d be concerned for his own health.

    Hi Sue,
The sailings before and after the July 15thvoyage have been postponed due to COVID-19.  Although we have a clean ship we want to keep our Crew and Sailors healthy and safe.
I hope this answers your concern, and we look forward to seeing you on Richard's Birthday Celebration!

    Cheers!

  10. Agreed...after having been on a couple of inaugural cruises I would never book one again.  They were a disaster!  I assumed to by them having started in April, most of the kinks would be worked out.  I don’t really think this is related to the health crisis either but can’t seem to find out for sure.  I hope they reconsider their planning.

  11. We are booked on the Bday Bash cruise.  I got the email that it is still on but I don’t understand why.  If they have cancelled

the ones before and after for one would assume a good reason, other than it being his bday why is this one going out?  Is it

because it is more than twice as expensive as the other cruises?  I think I would to cancel and reschedule for

another date but am told the offers they’re  giving won’t be applied and I can’t since that cruise is not being affected.  Just a little confused about their policies!

  12. I need suggestions on what to do or where to go for the few hours between our arrival at the Auckland, NZ airport and checkin time at our hotel.  We are scheduled to arrive at 5:30 am and can not check in until around 1 pm into a CBD hotel.  We will have our luggage, of course and don’t really want to be schlepping it all around the city.  I’ve heard of The Luggage Hotel and are considering it but someplace where we could rest a little as well would be wonderful after our 15 hr. flight.  Any info would be much appreciated!

  13. I’m curious if anyone on a previous cruise has any copies of their daily newsletters.  I’d like to see what kind of activities they have during the day on both port days and sea days.  If anyone has any and would post a picture, it would be most appreciated.  Thanks much!

  14. We are booked on the 3/24 Viking Sky sailing. Today was the first day I could go online to schedule excursions. As I was doing that, I noticed that all of our flights had changed. We were booked on Delta (in Delta comfort class) and now we are booked on American in Economy. On 12/15 we made all of our arrangements for flights times, cities, seats etc. I called Viking tonight and they said our flights had all been changed on 1/2....with no explanation given. The air arrangement department was closed and the rep I spoke with had no idea what may have caused this. We paid the extra for being able to choose our preferred flights as well as the upgrade charge for Delta Comfort. I will speak to my TA on Monday but I am very curious if this has happened to anyone else and if so do you know why. I’m just a little concerned that we won’t be able to get our original arrangements reinstated.

  15. Can someone give me information on what this is and how it works? We will be on the Viking Sky March 24, 2018 and would like to participate in this program if possible.

Also, how do I find out which hotels we will be staying in for the pre and post tour extensions in Rome and Venice?

    Thank you for your time...:halo:
