Do they take US Dollar or need to use Euro?

Congrats on your first post on Cruisecritic. What was it you thought Customer Service was going to do for you?

CCL customer service rushed me off of the phone as soon as they heard I lived in NY and when I told him I had been working with a travel planner at CCL, but seems that she has left. Never gave me any options or suggestions. I had to tell him that CCL was no longer sailing out NYC. After he put me on hold for almost 5 minutes, he said there are no more cruises scheduled and hung up on me. This is just one of the reasons why I always dealt directly with the same travel planner and never just called the main number. I wish I could find her again!! :)

I am a Platimun Cruiser with Carnival. We cruise two, sometimes three times a year. They just canceled three of my upcoming 2014 and 2015 cruises. My dh does not fly which is why we love NYC and Baltimore cruising ports.

We are cruising our last two CCL cruises in March and Oct of 2014, but unless they return we are switching cruise lines. We just booked RCCL Grandeur of the Sea out of Baltimore for Feb 2015. When I compare the cost of CCL cruise plus expenses and time to drive to FL, RCCL was cheaper and I would rather be on a ship for two days then fighting weather and traffic. Sorry Carniva I was loyal to you but you are not Loyal to me.

Did you book for Feb 2015 out of Baltimore???? I just tried RCCL and they show nothing after June 2015 for Baltimore.

We live in New York State and enjoy being able to go on a cruise where we don't have to pay for air fare. This February will be our 3rd cruise out of NYC with Carnival. I just read that Carnival is pulling out of NYC, so I called Carnival to discuss my February 2015 cruise......they put me on hold for at least 5 minutes then came back and said, there are no cruises available after November of 2014. Once he found out I was looking to cruise in February of 2015, he rushed me off of the phone.

Very disapointed in Carnival pulling out of NYC for winter cruises. Now we will either be taking RCL, Norweigen or not doing a cruise at all.

Customer service was no help.
