We are sailing on the Queen Mary 2 to New York from Southampton on the 5th of November. What is the earliest time we would be allowed to board?

Is there a waiting area where I can sit whilst awaiting wheel-chair assistance in boarding? Any other info or advice would be appreciated as we have never sailed from Southampton.

We are sailing on the Queen Mary2 from Southampton. I am not to good on my pins. How far is it from the nearest car drop-off point to the booking in point? I am being taken aboard by wheel chair assistance. Is this assistance point easily found?
