Glad you got to meet up with friends Les! Like you I was lucky to get on the ship early when I arrived to drop my case off at 10.30.

I've been travelling solo since 2010 after my husband passed away from cancer at just 64. I know how hard that first time can be but it gets easier with time. I was lucky to be able to travel with friends the first time but then after that I travelled solo. Sometimes on cruises and other times on tours - mostly in Europe, the US and Canada but later on in Australia.

I am now only going as far as NZ in these uncertain times. It's amazing how you get used to travelling alone and you meet so many new and interesting people along the way. I love to travel so I prefer to go solo rather than stay at home!

Wonderful you got on early, do you mind me asking what was the first check in time on your sailing ? For our sailing first checkin starts at 12, just wondering what has been the other cruises from Sydney check in times have been, thanks

I like deck 4 near the Centrum on Radiance--class ships, and haven't found them to be too noisy. We've tried to stay in 3635 on Brilliance and Jewel, but both cruises were cancelled. I was able to get 3635 on Brilliance for the Oct. 2022 6-night repo, so hope it isn't as noisy as others experienced.

A long time after your initial post I know  🙂  Just wondering if you ended up in interior cabin 3635 on Brilliance and how it ended up being noise wise ? Thank you

Not quite sure of your question?

I have worked with  royal caribbean cruise planner previously, someone who works at royal caribbean and you ring or email directly about booking your cruise. They have the same thing at Princess called a princess vacation planner. The planner I had previously is no longer there and I am having trouble getting hold of a new planner. I was just wondering if anyone here had a planner they were currently using that they could recommend  🙂

If the cruise only goes to domestic ports (all that's available now), you do not have to disembark between cruises. When international cruises re-start, the current protocol states that all passengers have to disembark. If you are changing cabins, both have to be deep-cleaned between cruises.

Menus are likely to be repeated as are shows. Trivia questions might be repeated, but this depends on the trivia host and how much time they want to put into researching questions.

Thanks for your answer, same cabin so should be smooth sailing (so to speak lol)

Don’t need to get off boat if doing B2B. If you’re changing cabin then you pack up loose small items and leave in your case in cabin. Everything hanging just leave. They change them all over for you.

we have been on 20 days and haven’t eaten same thing??? Not sure if menus are same or not but we’ve chosen diff things each time. Apart from bayou cos we have fav fish.

haven’t been to trivia sorry so don’t know that one. Someone else might be able to jump in and tell yiu

Thanks so much for your reply, really appreciate it  🙂  Keep enjoying your cruise(s)

  6. Thanks for all of your information, we are going in  September and i have a couple of questions on the b2b cruises, did you have to get off the boat and then reboard on the turnaround days ? And at the start of each leg of your cruise have they gone back to day 1, for instance have they gone back to day 1 menu in the mdr at the start of everyone of your legs ? Might just get a bit repetitive on a b2b2b cruise. And gone back to the same trivia questions over and over ?

  7. Hi, if you don't mind me asking how much is the refreshment package in US$ on your cruise ? THanks :-)

I'm just happy the Refreshment package is on sale again. I had bought it on a the discount late last year, but then we changed cruise dates and the package was canceled. I've been holding out for a sale to repurchase it.

On our 9 night cruise on Grandeur, there are multi-night dining packages. Seriously looking at the 5 night package, which comes to $21/reservation. You get a $30 credit at Izumi. The package is only a losing proposition if you use it at Giovanni's for all 5.

  8. HI Guys, wondering if anyone has been recently and know what the drink package prices on board were ? Specifically interested in the Premium Non Alcoholic Package. Do you also know if they were offering any discounts on specialty dining restaurants booked onboard ? I am used to travelling on Royal ships and found the prices of the specialty restaurants on Solstice expensive to book through our cruise planner. Thanks in advance :-)

  9. Hi Guys :-) I was trying to find a topic I was reading on taking wine onboard a while back.... my question was after taking my 2 bottles per stateroom, are you able to take extra bottles of wine when embarking and pay the corkage ($15?) per extra bottle of wine over 2 bottles ? Or do they just confiscate the extra bottles and return them at the end of the cruise ? With prices of wine onboard would still work out better to buy wine and pat corkage rather than pay the prices ? Or would you suggest I cut down on my wine consumption lol
