  1. I also agree with those in favor of early arrival. If you enjoy gong to the spa throughout the week, there are also specials you can book on board which have limited amounts of spaces (such as thermal suite packages). Giving yourself the gift of a few hours also allows you to find a good sail away spot, a chance to get used to the layout of the ship, even a short nap if needed :)

  2. I sailed on Allure two weeks ago and purchased a bottle of sparkling wine through royal gifts with a note for my DH as a surprise the day we set sail. Not sure what happened but it ended up being strawberries and champagne but no note. So, we got a little extra but it was delivered at night on the day I requested it.

  3. I agree with MADflyer. I was on Allure of the Seas two weeks ago and the thermal suite was 4 heated loungers an aromatherapy steam room, a dry sauna, standard steam room and 2 tropical rain showers. (Oasis class ship). I was on the NCL Escape and that thermal spa was way more expansive with the pools and lots more spa options included in the thermal suite. If you enjoy spa experiences RCI may disappoint.

  4. Hi there. I am sailing 7-2 on Allure of the Seas and I booked a guarantee suite cabin. I had been watching prices for this cruise for a few months and about 60 days prior to sail I saw the guarantee suite category as an option for the first time. I figured it would be a junior suite I would be assigned (and it was). At that point there were about 10-15 junior suites still available as well as higher category suites. I assumed that the ship was not selling those cabins quickly enough so I booked. I think it was the luck of finding it at the time I did but it was just about at that 60 day mark- we were able to book with short notice, not sure if you are.

  5. I have been in an inside cabin and a balcony probably equal times. Each time I had an inside it was because price was too good to pass up or it was a port heavy itinerary. If you are traveling with more than 2 people I find the inside cabs are very tight. Even for a 5 day it's still kind of crowded. A 3 day will be ok I think, the trip will be over so fast. For just two people an inside will be just fine. I am not sure I can even give you a fair comparison with a suite to an inside. However if all you've ever sailed in is a suite I wouldn't recommend the inside as you will be disappointed.

  6. Nathan134: the fellow cruisers who told you about RC kids sail free is the way to go. I have cruised with them as well and the 3rd passenger in the cabin is usually at a discount. I don't think you were looking for sympathy, you were expressing a concern a lot of parents and solo cruisers have. RC is a great line to sail with if you are conscious of cost for an infant.
