  1. Hello,

My boarding time is 11-11:30 am. Should I get to the port between 10-10:30 so we can go through security etc ? This way we will be ready to board at 11am?

First time cruising with RCCL so not sure what the boarding process is like.  I usually get to the port early so I can go through security and check in without waiting on long lines.

    Thanks

  2. Merriem, I am booked for a precruise night at one of the Marriots in this complex through my own web research. With you having stayed there I appreciate your personal recommendation.

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot Downtown before our cruise on 8/22.

We arrived at 9:30am and our room was ready. It was a nice hotel and I would stay there again. The pool area is very nice with lounge chairs and tables. They have a Starbuks as well as a restaurant. We did not eat there so can't comment on the food. Everyone was very nice. There is a 24 hour CVS a block away as well as a Whole Foods. We ate breakfast at Whole Foods which was way less expensive than the hotel. They also had a larger variety of choices. It is close to the People Mover and Bayside Market. We paid approximately $169. There is a taxi stand right across the street. It cost $20.00 which included a very generous tip. This is what we would have paid using the hotel shuttle for four people.

It is better since you leave on your schedule and not theirs. We arrived at the port about 10:30am

  3. I would recommend thinking beyond the shuttle and staying downtown....normally you can hotwire a great deal downtown. We booked a stay last time and this time through Hotwire, total was between $100 and $125 and we got the B2 (something else now) and this fall we will stay at the intercontinental. There were so many wonderful little street restaurants, the Bayside area is right across the way to enjoy and walk along at night, and we had a fantastic view of the ships. Taxi to the port in the morning was less than $15. Two times ago we tried to go cheap and stayed at the Bay Mont by the airport with free airport shuttle and then shuttled back to the airport to take a shuttle to the port. The hotel was adequate, the area around it was dismal, and although we are extremely budget conscious I almost never find the shuttle worth the trouble for the cost savings anymore.

What taxi service did you use? Did you call a specific taxi company to take you to the port?

  4. The showers are roomy, especially the handicap shower, plenty of towels available, just remember to bring face/wash cloths with you. I always use the gym showers which frees up the cabin shower for other uses. Also you can use the sauna and the steam rooms before your shower...

Are the free sauna and steam rooms co-ed?

  5. I want to take the bus to Sea Grape beach. Does anyone have a walking map to the bus stop or can you give me directions? I like to know where I have to go once I get off the ship. Does it matter what tender area we dock at? What bus do I get on and will the driver let me know what stop to get off?

  6. that price is without transportation, correct? Did you take a taxi from the port?

If so how much was it. Do they limit the amount of day passes they offer.

Did you reserve it when you called or you just go there and pay for it?

  7. Thanks, everyone. How much do you think a taxi will charge to take us to Hell, wait and then take us to Public Beach? I thought the taxis are more like mini buses and they take a lot of people around.

  8. We want to visit Hell and then go to a beach with restrooms.

Is it better to take taxi or the bus? How far is Hell from Public beach?

Will I be able to get a taxi from Hell to the beach or should we take a bus?

Is Public Beach the one next to Calico Jacks but quieter?

  9. Hi, Has anyone been to Sunset Beach Resort? What kind of beer and alcohol is included? Is the food good?

Has anyone used Jaital for day passes or excursions?

    Any opinions would be helpful.

    thanks

  10. I am looking at the cabin with 2 twin beds that convert to king with two pull down beds. # 1266. Does anyone have a picture of it? I am wondering where exactly are the pull down beds in relation to the twin/king bed. Some cabins I have seen seem to be too cramped and have the beds right on top of you with little head room.

  11. goofy girl where did you see a $99 price? On my sailing (12/22) it shows $159 for adults and $99 for kids... unfortunately we all qualify as adults! Debating...

I saw it under MYNCL for my sailing. We are sailing the first week in December.

I agree with the other answer you received. Must be because you are sailing near holiday time.

  12. Is this excursion worth the money? Do they have lockers?

Do you have to bring your passport when you get off the ship?

NCL is listing the aqua adventure for $99.00 per person and I could have

sworn it was listed as $169.00 pp prior to today. Does this sound right?

    We are sailing in December.
