You need to post this information on your roll call.  Just go to the main page, scroll to Roll Calls, choose your ship and then your sail date.  You can connect with all of your cruise mates there.  Enjoy your TA…….I love them!

Dear Lady Arwen:  Thank you for the tip!  I've been on "my" roll calls for most of my cruises. So..yes..I have now posted regarding the one ticket available for the tulip fields while in Rotterdam.  I love the TA's too and just returned from the Crown to Hawaii and back..with a lot of sea days.

  2. Just disembarked the Majestic today...so don't know if anyone has posted this previously...

As an Elite we always had 8 small bottles of liquor..soft drinks..etc. in the cabin upon our arrival.  Another passenger happened to mention that we only received 6 bottles of liquor.  Had not noticed because I don't drink alcoholic beverages and just exchange everything for bottles of water.  Maybe more downsizing?

One major problem though..smoking is again allowed in the casino.  Therefore...I didn't make my "donation" (nor will I) on any future cruises.

The crew has been wonderful and have mentioned that they are happy to be working again!

Also, one of the best shows I've ever seen on Princess is "Encore".

HAL's platinum protection insurance, that includes CFAR.

The cruise was cancelled by HAL, so I didn't need to put in a claim and got the payment back.

Thanks!  My TravelGuard will apply the amount paid towards future travel until April 2022.

Will definitely check into "Cancel For Any Reason" in the future!

Our cruise was scheduled for May 15.  We opted for the FCC in April.  We received notice May 7 that the FCC was available.

While looking at my June CC statement, I see that the air, port fees and insurance were refunded to my credit card on June 19.

Was your travel insurance thru HAL or ?

  5. YES!!!  Received credit to card for cancelled April 19th Zuiderdam cruise!  Won't be booking anything until it is safe to cruise again???  But, so difficult, am into cruise "withdrawals" and will need therapy soon!   So strange not having a cruise to look forward to....due to VIRUS!!!

Pandemics are covered if you purchase “Cancel for any reason” protection, which we did through the HAL Platinum Protection Program but, just as everyone else, we are still impatiently patiently waiting for our refund.

Loreto-Karen....oh yes...was well aware that travel insurance policies can exclude coverage for pandemics.  What I was referring to was the premium you paid for coverage...as some are posting that the premium has been credited to their cards or coverage postponed for a future cruise...to my understanding.

We also have had incidents requiring helicopters evacuating ill passengers...one time a 13 yr old girl was airlifted to the USS Roosevelt....which came to meet our ship in Pacific waters.

My husband and I have cruised well over 100 times...since the 1980's.... the only time we had to file a claim was because we missed our connection home from Rome due to the Iceland volcano eruption...insurance promptly reimbursed our hotel stay.  Can't remember what insurance co. that was.

Am still patiently waiting for the refund(s).

I also received credit  back for the shore excursions I booked for this cruise almost immediately. We waited until HAL cancelled. I chose full refund for the cruise fare, was told 30-60 days, but I doubt that I will ever see that🙁.  Travel insurance company refunded the cost of my policy in a week.  Next up is out July 11 Alaska cruise including family, which I will consider a loss as well.  Finally is the big one: 22 day solar eclipse/Antarctica Nov. 27.  I am holding off making anymore payments on that cruise until I see if anything is refunded from HAL from our cancelled cruises..  Final Payment is in August.

Looking at other cruise sites: Viking, Crystal to name a few, the story is the same, 30-60 days.  Everyone is waiting.  I hope the cruise industry survives.

No credits yet on my card for my cancelled April 19th cruise...cancelled by HAL.  Know it will take time.  I purchased travel insurance thru TravelGuard (via Costco) but have not received any credit back to my card.  What insurance co. did you receive your credit from?

Does anybody know if the FCC is based on all parties sailing together again?  For example, Dear Dad and I both take the FCC, but one of us can't sail in the future, can the other party still use the full credit?  Or is it all per person?

I also noticed the email terms did not mentioned deposits considered nonrefundable at the time of booking.  Would that be forfeited?

Am assuming and hoping that our non-refundable deposit will be credited back to our original form of payment...since HAL is cancelling our cruises.  If anyone knows....please post.

Thank you sooooooooo much for the info...It will be our first time in NYC we have booked the hop on hop off through the ship because it includes our transportation to and from the Brooklyn port.  We are coming the day before the New York Marathon, we will be there on Nov. 2nd, so the traffic will probably be really bad.  Do you know which line we will need to get on to go to the 911 Memorial, if there is one that goes there?

Thank you again for the info

Exactly what I'm wondering.  Been to NYC before...want to see the 911 Memorial and

Sorry for the never ending questions, but if we take the ship transportation to Time Square we need to get on the downtown hop on and take it to stop 10 or 12 for the 911 Memorial, is one stop a better option than the other?

And then is it within walking distance to the Red Hook from the 911 Memorial or do we need to find a way to get there?

The Red Hook is the ferry that runs to Brooklyn and it looks like it is 2.75 pp?

How far is the ferry from Time Square?

Thank you all so much your info is very helpful

Great questions....am on same cruise!  Been to NYC before and now want to see 911 Memorial.  But it all sounds confusing to me.  Also want to go to Times Square again.  Hmmmm....maybe hire this informant as our tour guide???  Last time our Columbia U. son was our tour guide.

  10.

I wish Princess would not charge solo/singles/independent cruisers more than double the cruise fare.

I wish Princess would have gatherings for us....not at a bar or at dinner hour as on my last cruise.

I wish Princess would have comfy deck chairs on all ships....not those uncomfortable non-adjustable ones.

I wish everyone entering a dining area would use hand sanitizer.....I see too many often do not.  On the Pacific Princess one of the crew would actually squirt it on your hands prior to entering.

I agree....too much paper regarding sales pitches...jewelry...spa...art auctions.  Hate to dump them in the trash....but that's where they go.

Yes....the 5 pm dining time is too early.....especially on a port day.

Would prefer not to have to pre-pay excursions now.

  11. Arriving via shuttle from Napa to San Francisco airport.  Need transportation from airport to cruise ship...any recommendations?  The transfers via Princess depart at 11am to 12noon...so I'm told.   I arrive at SFO at 11:30 am (luggage in hand).

We love Venice and cannot get enough of this magical city.  But unless you fly there first for three nights and then head to Rome, it would be too much.  I am sure you will get back, we took our children many places.

Cruise gal,  I like your thinking of a couple of nights.  Just book near piazza Roma for ease of connection.

    Thank you....
