  1. We did, we bought two bottles of Asti and they cost about $8 per bottle. I'd say the price range was $8-$20.

The selection was all right, I'd hazard a guess that they had 10-20 different items in each (red, white, sparkling) category.

I'm thinking they had mostly sold out when we got there then!! There were 3 or 4 whites, no red, 1 rose and a couple of Champagne.

I thought the selection was horrible. We got there at 3, wishing now we had got there when you did :(

  2. Did you buy any wine from the shop? If so, what was the selection/pricing like? We have a supermarket by our hotel for when we go in August but some people in our party are headed right from the airport to the cruise port and I'm wondering if they should try to stop or just buy wine at the pier.

Personally I would stop on the way and buy wine. Very very small selection and with the exception of some Champagne (Moet) nothing I had ever heard of. The Sangria wine was about the only thing ok to drink. Picked up a couple of other bottles and ended up pouring them down the sink

If you want the Champagne you can make more than 1 trip to the store... We didn't actually do that but would have been easy to do, and the staff actually TELL you you can!!

  3. I have an unusual question. How long does it take to get from one end of the ship to another. Everyone keeps telling me these ships are "huge" and there is a lot of walking involved. I had foot surgery and don't do too well walking too far. I know there is going to be a lot of walking involved (in general) and am adequately stocking up on my meds, but curious just how "huge" this ship is

  4. Didn't get sick, but it was a miracle. Roads are crazy. Drivers are crazy. I took ginger pills all cruise and wore wrist bands. Never got sea sick but I do have the flu or something. The tour was great for the most part.

Thanks for posting! Very glad you didn't get sick :) sorry to hear about the flu now, not fun.

Crazy roads n drivers huh. Experienced that in Dominican, almost died last time on way to hotel, our driver was insane. Hmm something "fun" to look forward to I guess! ;)

  5. We are doing a 7 day southern Caribbean itinerary with Barbados our last port of call. We have absolutely no plans here (unlike every other day)

What would be the best beach to go to and why? Looking for total relaxation but a nice spot with a beautiful view and food/drink nearby.

  7. can anyone post a copy of a daily compass for the adventure of the seas caribbean cruise - or give an idea of a trypical days activities on board this ship. Being first time cruisers we would like to find out more about things to do onboard.

Is there a newer version of this? I've tried searching the ones that were posted but photobucket is only letting me view several pages, not sure if the problem is on my end or theirs

  8. Hi

Couple of questions. We are sailing on the Jewel from OSJ and our flight doesn't arrive until 2.10 so I imagine we would be to the Pier around 3.30. Our TA advised us to be there by 5pm so figuring we are ok... But, just would like some advice as reading some posts it seems a lot of people get there at 10 and 11am!! I guess my question is what is the latest time you can get onboard for an 8pm sailing?

Also, I am hearing you can buy water and pop in the terminal after check-in?

    Thanks!

    Emma
