  1. Can you remember how long the ride was on the beach, how long the ride was in the plantation and how long it was from pickup and return to the ship. Also was there time for eating lunch and/or laying on the beach?

  2. Thank you for your info. We don't like the aft dining room so I am thinking either we should take 8 pm TD or take the Anytime Dining and hopefully see the maitre d when we board and try to lock in the same table each night at 6:30. We are 6 adults traveling together so hopefully they will do that since we want to eat together and alone each night. Any thoughts on our idea?

  3. It is Mexican Riviera on Ruby in Jan. What is TD? Princess is telling us there are 3 dining times so we are puzzled. Please explain. We don't want to eat like early-birders so we don't know how to book our dining. I have also experienced the anytime dining nightmare on Princess. Most other cruise lines have it down but my experience with Princess is to definitely pick a formal time or wait forever in line!

  4. According to Princess, the Ruby has three formal dining times: 5:30, 6:00 and 8:00 and of course Anytime dining. Yet I know many times once you board, the ship may change the formal times. Can anyone let me know if this is happening on the Ruby so I don't get surprised? Thanks.

  5. Can someone please tell me what the formal dining times are on the Ruby Princess. Princess says they are 5:30, 6:00 and 8:00 but many times the ship will change the times once onboard and I don't want any surprises if I should commit to a given time.

  6. Help...We are considering an obstructed view cabin on The Caribbean Princess on Empress deck and cannot decide between one over the Explorers Lounge or Wheelhouse Bar. These are our only options. Both of these offer light filtering into the room but I am concerned about noise or vibration in our cabin. We are usually late to bed around midnight or later, but we still need some input about the noise factor. Thanks in advance!

  7. I was just on Allure and here is my input...for what it's worth. If your cabin is an inside balcony overlooking Boardwalk, it can be somewhat noisy as many of the kids' attractions and noisier places are on Boardwalk. Central Park is a much calmer, quieter area and very pretty, especially when lit at night. If I were to choose an inside balcony, overlooking CP would be my ONLY consideration.

  8. Is there a different show to see every night on the Caribbean Princess? Some ships repeat shows thus creating nights where one can only see a repeated show. We would like to be able to see some type of show each night...is that possible? Please let me know your experience. Thanks.

  9. On many Royal Caribbean ships, one rarely has to wait to be seated in anytime dining because their ships have so many dining options. How is the wait on Princess? We are considering the Caribbean Princess and wonder if picking a set dining time might be better. We like the flexibility of anytime dining but don't want to miss shows because of long waits. By the way, what are the two traditional dining times? Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

  10. Which is a better location on the ship, ocean view balcony on Deck 8 or 9? Do either floors block access to areas? I have heard that some decks are such that you have to go up or down one floor to get to certain spots. Is it noisy on 8 due to Central Park.

  11. We will be sailing on Allure of the Seas in August and have a dining question. The shows work better with the 6:00 traditional dining time, yet our friends also sailing want us to consider My Time Dining instead. With a full ship, how long will we have to wait in line to be seated in MTD vs. an immediate seating at 6:00 which we consider to be earlier than desired. In the past we have hated the waiting but they claim there is no real wait on the Allure. Please share any recent experiences. Thanks in advance.

  12. Just to let you all know...Celebrity retrieved my bag from the ocean full of sea slime, etc. and proceeded to partially dry the clothes (not wash), pack them into my sea soiled suitcase and send them to my hotel in Barcelona. They are now frayed, pulled and mildewed and quite disgusting. I called Celebrity the other day when they did not contact me as promised and thy have magically misplaced the paperwork and want me to re-send it to them which I have done. I am hoping to hear back from them to see what they plan to do to make me whole again. Yes I am aware that clothing can be replaced and I do have insurance (which by the way is questioning coverage of Celebrity's error) and yes things happen all the time, but what a major hassle from sheer negligence. I am only suggesting that others might reconsider carrying off luggage as an option. As a matter of fact that was Celebrity's comment to me (which was quite annoying) and thus far they have done nothing to rectify the situation. I will keep you posted with the hopes that they respond as one would expect from a quality cruise line.
