  1. We were there in September and took the bus--which is actually a mini van. Go to Back Street (right behind Front Street) and look for vans with Maho or Mullet Beach in the front window. The trip was $2 each way and didn't take long at all.

  2. Yes! They have done two previous cruises and I am finally going on the one in February on the NCL Pearl. It's not just the Moodies but The Orchestra (ELO without Jeff Lynn) and many other bands. I've seen pictures of the previous two cruises and they looked fantastic! They may still have cabins available--you should join us! Go to MoodiesCruise.com for more info.

  3. We took a tour with him in September. His brother Sackville was our tour guide and was wonderful! My husband and I and two other couples were in a ten-passenger air-conditioned van. Very comfortable, easy to see everything and he was very informative.

  4. Went on the Pride of America in September, 2013. My first NCL cruise but I really liked it. Loved the freestyle dining-I'm glad other cruise lines have adopted an anytime dining. We spent three days in Waikiki prior to the cruise. We toured the Pearl Harbor/Bowfin/USS Missouri and climbed Diamond Head. We toured all around Oahu on debarkation day. This itinerary allows more time at each port than any other cruise line. I would suggest staying longer if you can and spend a few more days on each of the four islands you'll visit. You won't regret going-whether you choose a cruise or land vacation-but see the four major islands!

  5. Used them both when on the POA last September. I was very pleased with both of them. We did the Haleakala at Sunset and Smith Family Luau with Roberts and Volcanoes National Park and Outrigger Canoe with Hawaii Cruise Excursions. Both offered pick up and return to the ship and were priced cheaper than similar excursions through NCL. We booked two excursions with NCL-Molokini Crater snorkeling and horseback riding in Kauai because I could not find anything similar with any other company that would pick us up at the ship. (My husband drove for a living--so we don't drive on vacations!)

  6. Robert's Hawaii is a wonderful company! We used them in September, 2013 for transport from the airport to our Waikiki hotel, for a trip to Haleakala at sunset, and to the Smith Family Luau on Kauai. They have a lot of excursions and they are very reasonably priced. They will also get you back to the ship on time.

  7. I booked this with hawaiicruiseexcursions.com. The guy said that he could accomodate up to 6 people in the outrigger but at the time we reserved we (my husband and I) were the only ones. If they have a website you may be able to book direct with them. I guess it depends if other people book the same time. At the time we went, one person was the guide and he had one outrigger canoe. This was a fun excursion! You don't have to paddle but we wanted to.

  8. We were on the POA last September and did this outrigger trip with Kona Boys. It was great! There is a small beach on the left side of the tender pier and this is where they are located. The owner is such a nice guy!! He took us around some very pretty areas and we were in the middle of a bunch of leaping spinner dolphins. Take your camera and you will get a great picture of your ship. After your canoe time you can hang out at the beach or walk around in Kona. The hotel behind the beach had a very interesting display of Hawaii history and the first church in the islands is close by--those were interesting. I can highly recommend this canoe trip!

  9. We stayed at the Ohana East last September for three days prior to our Pride of America cruise. I was very happy with the hotel! There is a small restaurant on the street level corner area of the hotel where we ate breakfast each day. Fairly reasonable for Hawaii. There is also a Burger King nearby if you would like fast food. There are many restaurants within walking distance--just google map and you will see them. It is a very easy walk to the beach--and we had a small view of the ocean from our lanai. You'll like the hotel! We ate at a buffet across the street. If you like asian-type food and sushi you'll love it--us not so much. But it was fun to watch the fire dancers they had. You'll also be on The Bus route (pick up in a small park next to the hotel) and on the pink line trolley which will be free if you show your hotel key. You can get around very easily this way. We took The Bus out to Diamond Head, back from Diamond Head, and out to the mall and Wal Mart. I would stay at the Ohana East again if I'm lucky enough to go back to Hawaii!

  10. We were on the Pride of America in September and used Safari Helicopter tours in Kauai. They were wonderful!! We were picked up at the ship, taken to their office to do the paperwork, then to the Lihue airport. The pilot was very nice and informative about what we were seeing. I recommend Safari quite highly!
