  1. I guess I should clarify which cruise line.

The question was in reference to Celebrity Cruise line.

Haved sailed on enough cruises to be elevated to an upper level, and have dined many a time in the speciality restaurants BUT have never ordered more than one Appetizer, entree, or dessert when dining there, thus my inquiry.  Not a huge eater but have on occasion ordered multiple items in the main dining room.

My thanks to all who have responded thus far and to those who choose to respond with the noted cruise line referenced.

  2. I guess this could be considered one of those “Dumb questions”.

I know that in the main dining room and at the buffet you can have as many of a food item, app, entree, etc that you want.  BUT what about the speciality restaurants, the ones where there is an additional fee.  Is it acceptable to request more than one appetizer, entree or even dessert, and will your request be honored?

Asking for a friend, Wink, wink.

    Thanks

  3. Are there any ex or current Submarine sailors on the boards? It might be nice to attempt to set up a cruise , so we could exchange sea stories over a few kegs, mugs etc.

    Just asking

STS2 SS. USS Stonewall Jackson SSBN 634 B

  4. Yes. We were dining in Murano one evening and I wanted the Lobster Murano, but DH wanted the Chateaubriand. The waiter, hearing our dilemma suggested that we order both. I have had multiple appetizers there as well.

Thanks for the response. I would want to believe that a request for 2 appetizers, or entrees would be accepted, I wanted reassurance. Again thanks,

  5. Its lunch time here and I am hungry.

Sorry for the intro but it made me think of a question for Murano.

I(we) have dined here on several cruises and never thought to ask this question. In the main dining room you can request multiple appetizer, and entree items. Is this possible in Murano as well. Are we able to order more than one entree? For example the Lobster as well as the Chateaubriand?

  6. Not sure if this is an appropriate place for this response, but when I upgrade to the Premium Beverage Package I always tell the bartender which brand I prefer. They will oblige with no problem. If you visit the same bar and or bartender after a couple of drinks they know which brand you prefer.

Here are a couple of attachments that may help.

1- is a Excel sheet to determine if a package is worth the additional cost.

2- Listing of the brands per package.

What is Celebrity Cruises’ Alcohol Policy?

    A. Celebrity Cruises guests are expected to be responsible for their actions at all times, including during transfers to and from ships, inside terminals, while onboard, at our ports of call, during shore excursions and at our private destinations. Consuming alcohol to excess impairs one's judgment and reduces one's ability to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations. Guests who choose to consume alcohol must do so responsibly. The ship's staff may refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to any guest who does not consume alcohol responsibly, including those who have purchased an all-inclusive beverage package. Ship's personnel may request verification of a guest's age to verify they are of age to consume alcohol pursuant to this policy. Any guest that violates this alcohol policy will be considered for disciplinary action pursuant to the "Consequences Section" of this Guest Conduct Policy, and may lose their privileges to use areas or facilities of the ship.

Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when guests are permitted to bring onboard with them up to two (2) bottles of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per stateroom. Security may inspect containers (including water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, canteens, etc.) at any time and will dispose of alcohol concealed in such containers. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased from onboard shops or in ports of call (which must be presented to security upon re-boarding), will be secured by ship's personnel. Alcohol secured by ship's personnel will be returned to guests just prior to the conclusion of their cruise vacation. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them.

The minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on Celebrity Cruises ships sailing from North America is 21. The minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on Celebrity Cruises ships sailing from South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand is 18. In certain circumstances where local laws permit or require, Celebrity Cruises may modify this policy which may also require parent/guardian request/authorization. Guests may contact Guest Relations or refer to Celebrity Today for specific minimum drinking age information on their cruise vacation.

For purposes of complying with the minimum drinking age requirements, a guest's age is established upon boarding at the beginning of the cruise vacation. If a guest celebrates their birthday during the cruise vacation, and thereby becomes of age to consume alcohol, the guest may thereafter ask the Guest Relations Manager to modify ship's records to permit their consumption of alcohol during the remainder of the vacation. The guest will be required to appear at Guest Relations to present a valid government-issued form of identification to permit verification of their age.

No guest under age 18 may possess or consume alcohol at any time while onboard. No guest under age 21 may possess or consume alcohol at our private destinations. Any guest who goes ashore and consumes alcohol (whether under the supervision of a parent/guardian or not, is responsible for ensuring they consume responsibly and retain their ability to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations when they return to the ship. Parents/guardians are reminded they are responsible for the actions of their child/young adult at all times while on a Celebrity Cruises cruise vacation.

Guests who violate any alcohol policy, including but not limited to underage drinking; providing alcohol to minors or young adults; possessing, concealing or attempting to conceal alcoholic items in their luggage, when boarding or while onboard; engaging in alcohol drinking games; or failing to consume alcohol responsibly, will be considered for discipline under the provisions of this policy.

  8. Ya’ll,

This nice info but where is the listing of acronyms used by many on the boards. And for us that are not constant cruisers we can sometimes forget or not retain what the 2, 3, or 4 letters are suppose to stand for.

    Is DH = dear husband?

    TA = Travel Agent, TransAtlantic

Okay. I understand people who are accustomed to the acronyms can easily interpret the meanings, but for us DA’es how about taking a little bit of time to SPELL OUT the words.

My first job at 16 I was told something that I always remembered an attempted to utilize throughout my caree.

I worked in a small clothing store and the buyer and lead salesperson told me this, “make sure whatever you do, that it easy enough for a first grader to understand.” Later in life my admin translated that into “ducks and bunnies”.

So if I can ask you all to do us a favor and make it easy for us with short memories, and use ducks and bunnies in your descriptions.

    Thank you

  9. I am aware that in the MDR if you would like to have a 2nd, app, entree etc you only need to ask. My question is in regards to the specialty restaurants like the Tuscan Grill, Murano, etc. It is acceptable to request a 2nd appetizer, entree etc in this or the other specialty restaurants or is this considered a no no? While I am not a big eater, at times the urge to have a 2nd of something has made me ponder this question.

    Thanks for your input.

  10. I thought I read in one of the threads where someone said that you could exchange the complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in a C class stateroom in the MDR for a bottle of wine. If the bottle lists for more you pay the difference. Any truth in this.

BTW. I have the beverage package so do not need to exchange, but it would be nice since I don't care for sparkling wine.

  11. I mean, I'm not gonna be ignored, Dan! :D:D:D

Could you please report if they still have sushi in OV Cafe for dinner? Or the only place to eat sushi is Deck 5 now?

    Thanks!

During the week of Feb 20 there was only 1 or 2 nights at most where sushi was available in the OV Cafe and it was limited. Sushi on 5 was/is now the primary location for sushi. Not sure if the special of buy one get one will still be in affect.

  12. Just returned from the Feb 20 sailing on Reflection. During the cruise the Bistro on 5 was converted to Sushi on 5. Per Reflection personnel this is a "Pop UP" themed restaurant, meaning that it may stay, go or be relocated somewhere else on the ship. Our party enjoyed the sushi on two different occasions. Our waiter Willie was very attentive and entertaining. Prices were acceptable due to the purchase one roll and get a complimentary roll. The rolls are a good size and two are adequate for two people with average appetites. They also serve Japanese beers and Saki which if you have a Premium beverage card covers most all selections.

I am not sure if this venue will be successful long term as the number of people visiting the restaurant appeared limited. It would be nice to open earlier, say around noon so passengers could enjoy dining there for lunch or just grabbing a quick bite to stay off the hunger pains until dinner.

  13. Cannot recall where I obtained this list of the classic and premium beverages or if it is up to date or not. Let me know if this is accurate or has been updated.

I do have a question for the forum: I received the classic beverage package as a perk, but want to upgrade to the premium. I have an on board credit and am wondering if I book the upgrade prior to the cruise will I be billed immediately or will the additional charge be credited against my OBC?
