  1. Hi, Ive just booked a last minute cruise on the Valiant out of Barcelona. Welcome some advice on two issues. 1. The App. Trying to book some evening events and the app keeps crashing. I’ve tried re-installing, clearing cache & updating operating system but still not able to book restaurants or shows. Any suggestions?

    2. Are there any solo gatherings on board ? thanks in advance .

  2. Thoroughly recommend the Retreat for the extra c£250. Adult only & peaceful plus view over the front of the ship is great. Service from the staff is great and when I was on in December 2021 the cost includes light meals - breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

  3. As stated above, buy your return ticket online in advance. The queues at the ticket office can get long. I visited the island on my own and used the local bus to get around. I recommend villa san Michele for the most amazing views and the chairlift also. Just allow time to return to the port.

  4. Thanks to everyone for posting here. really informative.  Travelling  on Brittania on 3rd December. Tried to download the onboard app from Apple store & can’t see it. is it only available when you board? ps i agree muster drills are important but i think a combination of film on the room tv announcement and visit to the lifeboat would be better learning .

  5. Agree with all the recommendations above. My others to add in:

    - a drink or meal at a restaurant on  Fondamente Nova and a stroll up and down that lagoon facing path. see the real Venice and the views are so peaceful. winding your way on foot back to the Rialto Bridge is great too.

    - san Giorgio maggiore tower (opposite Doge Palace) is a great vantage point, as is the look out point by Salute Vaporetto stop.

    - if you like modern art the Peggy Guggenheim museum is good + the view over the canal is great too.

    - for a change of scene have a wander around Arsenale; lovely cafes just outside the main entrance there.

    Enjoy!

  6. Hi

Im thinking of booking as a solo cruiser on Cunard QV in september. I'd be interested in hearing about the experiences of any solo cruisers. The itinerary looks great but I'm worried that the onboard experience may be too geared around couples. Any views?

    Thanks in anticipation

  7. Hi

Be interested in hearing about any experiences of cruising on Cunard and particularly the Queen Victoria. I like the itinerary but am a bit worried that the on-board experience may be too structured around couples. Look forward to hearing from anyone with experience :)
