  1. Have never received an email since our cruise and having an azamara profile just presumed you did not want us back

We are aware that there have been issues with our database which has resulted in frustration from some members not receiving our emails despite believing they should be opted in. A great deal of work has been completed in the US to address these challenges for our guests in North America, and in the UK we are currently undertaking a project to resolve these issues as swiftly as possible.

If you’re in the UK or Ireland and you believe you should be opted-in to receive our emails and/or post, but haven’t been receiving any – we’d love to hear from you. We’ll use this information to investigate how and why this is happening, and ensure you start receiving our emails if you wish.

If you are affected by these issues then please send us the following information (listed below) to azadatabase@azamara.com with the subject line “EMAIL COMMUNICATION – (Insert your country)” and we will investigate, as well as ensure you are opted in to receive communications from us if you wish. We are working on this as a top priority, but please do be aware that we may not be able to immediately resolve these issues; therefore it may take a period of time before we can come back to you with a resolution.

NOTE: If you are in North America and having any issues receiving our emails, we’d ask you to re-signup on the website https://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/request/email- if you then haven’t received any emails from us within 2 weeks please send us your information via the email address above and we’ll investigate.

  2. We recently sailed with Azamara in Asia and their policy was basically along these lines and it was user friendly the 21 year age restriction has basically meant we have stopped cruising at the moment and as we normally book top end suites and look for interesting destinations it has meant we have spent our funds elsewhere .The Australian agents for Windstar did pursue the matter without success .

It's the same for most cruise lines. We were just on Seabourn and the age is 21. Same with Regent. Here in Canada legal drinking age is 19 in most provinces (used to be 18) Silly that the US drinking age seems to guide international waters for cruise lines that aren't even registered there. I would think it would be an additional source of revenue and they could adopt a policy of anyone over 19 and under 21 needs to be supervised by an adult/parent.

  3. We have recently being looking at some great Windstar cruise options in Asia and the Pacific and generally travel with our adult offspring and in our part of the world and Europe this is 18+ .To our great disappointment Windstar do not have any flexibility in relation to the dinking age policy for cruises that do not operate from non US ports. Considering some of the great destinations Windstar travel to in Asia and Oceania that appeal to both the young and young at heart maybe they need to re-visit the policy as it is costing them business .The Australian representative for Windstar who contacted us admitted that is was an ongoing issue and was costing them bookings from Australia and Europe .Perhaps the could adopt the Azamara policy which has an exemption clause for cruises that do not commence or operate in US waters.

  4. We will be taking our first Azamara cruise next year on Journey and staying in the owners suite. Like you not real experience cruisers but have traveled a bit utilizing luxury hotels/resorts/river cruises.

If you have the time I would love to here more specifics regarding your suite experiences as it relates to the owners suite. Hopefully I can benefit from your experience as a new cruiser to set proper expectations and to know what I should ask for if they do assume we have sailed before with Azamara.

We had 6091 and it was fantastic ,huge balcony which we used a lot ,the complimentary bar setup is good ,we asked to swap to swap the rum and scotch for gin and our choice of mixers. We had prepared a list of preferred nights and venues for our complimentary specialty dining and once we found the appropriate person we submitted it and got the time we requested ( we are late diners so I am not sure how it would work with earlier slots) .Our butler was helpful and would address any issues quickly and efficiently .The balcony can have some soot on it from time to time so if you use it prior to housekeeping arriving keep a towel handy.

The room service breakfast is good and if you have a nice day the balcony is a great place to watch the world pass by ,overall it was a solid experience and if the right cruise and destination came up we would consider Azamara again .It is however a very competitive market and whilst it was enjoyable we would rule out other travel options .

  5. Some specifics would make this generalization helpful.

Perhaps my expectations were to high but if I check into a hotel suite on land ( Langham HK was our accommodation prior to the cruise for example) it would be helpful if someone could point me in the direction of my bed :)

The only cruise experience comparison I can draw on is travelling as a suite passenger on the Celebrity Eclipse .In that case our butler found us ,directed us and gave us a quick rundown on dining options ,benefits and features of the suite etc. The dining booking arrangements on Azamara are somewhat challenging for a new person but after some searching the appropriate desk was located.

We had a great holiday and cruise with Azamara and the friendly casual nature of the crew ,ship and fellow passengers .

  6. Hi All

It has taken a couple of months of reflection to sit down in front of the keyboard and make some observations on our Dec 2016 HK to SNG cruise.

We are not experienced cruises but are regular travellers who enjoy high end travel product ,we had a club world owners suite on the Journey.

The cruise overall was a great experience ,with fantastic ports (Bangkok was perhaps 1/2 a day to long in port and Koh Samui 1/2 day to short.

Our embarkation experience was rather patchy and as a suite passenger I would have to say the Celebrity Eclipse and its suite programme was much better. The food was fantastic and the Captains dinner was an outstanding event and all those involved did a superb job.

If I could make one observation there is an assumption by many of the crew that you are a regular cruiser or repeat customer with Azamara which at times meant information about the product was missing detail.

The entertainment crew did a great job and we enjoyed the entertainment in the small cosy show room.

Will travel with Azamara again ? maybe but we would also look at other cruise and land options

  7. We are new cruisers and have done Royal Princess in Europe ,good trip but horrible ship even in a suite ,we then switched to Celebrity Eclipse and did the Caribbean again in a suite and loved it much better service food and ambiance the difference between 3600 and 2600 was glaring we never felt crowded for space on Celebrity.

Now we are about to do HK to Singapore on the Azamara Journey so we have gone from mega to small so a whole new experience .Cruising is not our only travel style but so far Celebrity is the best.

  8. USD work in Vietnam most vendors accept them We are travelling HK to Sing this December managed to order Dong Via our bank

QUOTE=welshfamily;51471969]The Dong is not available for purchase in the Uk.

Does anyone know if Azamara have the Dong onboard.

We are looking at doing excursions with Azamara but will obviously need money for extras.

Bonnie. I have added your name to the post as ours is the first cruise this year which visits Vietnam and things can change from year to year.

    Thank you.

  9. Stay on the ship would be the best bet ,the place is a dump I can not fathom why cruise lines continue to include it as a port stop

In Bali from 8am to 5pm and looking for ideas but not wanting to travel too far from the port. Any suggestions?
  10. We a regular visitors to the UAE and middle east most of the activities quoted are easily done with locally based transport or tours .Taxis are cheap clean reliable in the cities mentioned and you will be much more comfortable than in a bus.

On a finer point someone needs to explain to the cruise industry that this time of year in the UAE is rather hot and if you are not conditioned to it life outside can be rather challenging.

  11. We are on our first Azamara cruise HK to Singapore in December and the ports all had appeal .It would have been back to back if the following cruise was not so Indonesia centric. The West coast of Thailand, Burma and India all have better weather in December

  12. Thank You for all the feedback

We are looking forward to our first Azamara cruise we came close to booking this trip before but flew across the world and spent 14 wonderful days on the Celebrity Eclipse in the Caribbean.

The HK to SNG itinerary Azamara Journey cruise looks like a great trip.

  13. Thank You Phil

Does the bathroom have one or two entry doors and from which part of the cabin ?

Interesting about the lack of an audio docking station etc. We often like to listen to music rather than have the TV going I might need to bring some small Bluetooth speakers and play music from my laptop.

Bathroom storage is also interesting although in most cases both myself and son have our odds and ends banished to a wardrobe.

The sliding door is pleasing we have has this feature on Celebrity and have found it works well for us.

    Kind Regards

  14. Hi

We are taking our first Azamara Cruise HK to Singapore in Dec and have suite 6091 .Most of the pictures online are renderings or pre refurbishment.

Does anyone have any recent feedback on these suites I have never sailed in a stern cabin before and expect some extra noise .

We are travelling with our 19 year old son and are really looking forward to trying a smaller ship and experiencing Asia.

    Kind Regards

    Anton

  15. As an Australian family who has booked there first Azamara cruise in Asia ,the access to smaller ports and overnight stays enabled by smaller ships was the significant difference between Azamara and its larger ship competitors .The price point was similar as we normally book larger suites .

Asia seems to be awash with mega ships but destination focused product is hard to find unless you want to river cruise.

I think they will continue find business in this part of the world with such a formula.

A couple of hints for Azamara however Jan,Feb and March are poor weather months for Northern Australia and Bali is "not" viewed favourably by a large section of the Australian travelling pub.

I've taken an interest in this before and for a while was worried the way Azamara was looked upon by its parent, RCCL. At a time when Celebrity and RCI were introducing brand new ships I felt that Azamara weren't a priority. I think this had a lot to do with revenue Azamara generated. I now feel they are being taken more seriously and there has been quite a bit if success in the markets, notably Australia.

It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation, but the recent and extensive refurbishments of the existing ships are one step. The next is a couple more ships, but new builds are some way down the line even if they sign today. Maybe 2020/21. There are ships Azamara have looked at buying, including other of the Rs, but they hadn't been well maintained. I don't have any inside knowledge, just a gut feeling, but I think we will hear something later this year. Fingers crossed! I keep hearing they won't go large.

    Phil

  16. I am self employed and run my business whilst I travel and it is not unusual to plan a trip well in advance of 330 days. In fact with cruising it has become a necessity to book this far in advance secure a suite .

Frankly if a cruise company released an itinerary and then chartered the ship completely disrupting my plans I would be "rather" upset

  17. Suite Concierge will be on the lookout for you ,they gave the ladies a Rose when we checked in last time and ( Damien ) found us and made us comfortable in Michaels whilst he co-ordinated with the butler for a time when our suite would be available .

Enjoy your suite our time on the Eclipse prevented us from ditching cruising altogether after a very average first cruise with another line before finding Celebrity.
