A debate for many years concerns the definition of a sandwich. Some people say that only meat or cheese in between two slices of bread should be referred to as a sandwich.Others say anything between two slices of bread is a sandwich .

I favor the latter .Any other opinions ?

I've never met anyone who would say that peanut butter and jelly on white was not a sandwich.  Or egg salad on a croissant or even just tomato and mayo.

  2. They are now offering a verandah option.  Copied from HAL

Guests may select to be added to the Inside/Ocean View Standby List for $49 per person per day, or the Verandah Standby List for $79 per person per day. If a guest is on the Verandah Standby List and no Verandahs are available, they will be offered an Inside or Ocean View stateroom, if available, for the reduced cost of $49 per person per day. The guest may choose to not take this alternate option for a full refund. If offered a stateroom in their original Standby List category, the fare becomes non-refundable.

I do wonder how you are supposed to handle a cruise that requires visas such as the 42 night cruise currently on the list.

Does Symphony of the Seas offer lobster tails on any formal nights? If so, which formal

night? We are going on 7 night cruise on August 25, 2024 to Nassau, Bahamas. Thank you.

in general it's the second "formal" night on any US based RC cruise.  Often day 6

  4. Remember way back towards the beginning of this cruise when all those tictokers not even on the ship were trying to stir up all sorts of trouble?  There was one I remember specifically who had some story about how there was some exclusive meeting and only the full cruise cruisers were going to have an opportunity to the northern lights.  Who knew she would basically be right.  Only based on the exceptionally rare geomagnetic storm and the fact that for the most part there are only full cruise passengers for this segment.

The most interesting ice cream I ever had was a Kitchen Sink at a Jahn’s Ice Cream Parlor in NY.

The most interesting ice cream I've had was Caramelized Turkey & Cranberry Sauce at Salt & Straw in 2022

Wonderland on Quantum Class is a neglected stepchild. Very small, seating way to close together, no windows, single story. no bar or lounge area that you find on Oasis Class. We have done several Wonderland dinners on Oasis Class, on Quantum and Ovation we walked in laughed and walked out.

Wonderland on the Quantum class is the original Wonderland.  If you go for the windows and the staircase, them by all means, skip it.

  7. if you are cruising out of Cape Liberty, there is nothing to walk to near the pier.  There are restaurants near EWR that you could taxi/Uber to.  I don't want to get too specific since I left the area in 2020.  Since we are talking breakfast, there use to be an IHOP in Elizabeth which may still be there.  Otherwise, I would probably look for a diner.  Or a full service hotel and but breakfast in their restuarant.

Just love Ben and Jerrys flavors.  That being said, we have never seen that on any cruise line.

    Hank

Royal had Ben and Jerrys until very recently on several ships

We have a new chef, since Chef Ronald left us (though not sure if it was due to contract, or due to he had to go to the hospital...hope he is OK).   The pastry Chef must have told him how much we adored the dried fruit and nut cups....so we scored another plateful that was sent to us today.  😋

Is there reason to think he had to go to the hospital?

I can't bring myself to watch it again but did the woman in the first one claim the pinnacles ( or was it the whole cruise crowd?)  were given an opportunity to see the northern lights that everyone else was denied?  In the carribean?  Close to the equator?  On the SAME ship? What am I missing?
