  1. Pandora Jewelry!!

John Heald posted a video today in which he is scanning the atrium while saying that he can't give any hints and then the video finishes with him focusing on a big Pandora banner hanging in the atrium. Also I see that someone else has commented that it is listed in the Fun Times today as well.

Oh well, I'm sure there are some excited people somewhere!?!?

  2. Sounds like they might be carry Starbucks coffee now... at the standard coffee cafe.

Although as we discussed earlier this morning in this thread he had said last week that the new thing on board is not food related.

Still trying to decide if coffee is considered a food.

  3. John Heald posted this about an hour ago:

"Tomorrow I officially open a new product in the shops on board and I will let you know about this charming new addition then. I will be back tomorrow to answer questions."

So sounds like it is more of a product within an existing store rather than a whole new store. I guess we will know for sure tomorrow.

  4. I don't know if this is the "surprise" shop JH is referring to or not, but they added a Starbucks coffee shop to the Breeze and are testing it before adding it to other ships.

He commented last week that the new shop is not food related. Is coffee considered a food?

  5. Back in our early cruising days when Bacon was truly self service it would be routine for a ship to run out of it on about day 5 of a 7 day cruise. Now that they have the "Bacon Police" I don't recall that happening on recent cruises.

  6. There is a thread on here called "Breeze Drydock" which has a link to pictures.

There is a page on FB called " Carnival Cruise Line Miami Blog" which had been posting pictures daily for the past couple of weeks during drydock of the changes and has been posting pictures today from people on board.

John Heald is on the ship this week and he has posted several videos already today on his FB page and I'm sure will post many more.

  7. We've been on several almost kid free cruises-

Princess CA Coastal in beginning of March. Maybe 5 kids, 4 of them under 4.

Carnival Hi cruise just before Halloween. 20 kids total, about 10 12-17yo

I had forgotten but back in 2012 we went on a Deep Southern Carribean cruise on the Carribean Princess out of San Juan. We had our 8 & 6 year old daughters with us and we checked out the kids club the first day and were surprised when they told us they were going to combine all of the different age groups into one room. They then told us the reason was that there were only 18 total kids ages 17 and under on our cruise!! It was a pretty easy week for the kid staff.

  8. If you dislike it just book MTD .

They dance at My Time Dining also.

I am not a fan of the dancing anyway but I did find it quite annoying on our last cruise that after waiting about 20 minutes to get a table as we were being seated at our table the announcement came over the speaker that "it was showtime" and all of the waiters cleared out to prepare. By the time they got all done with the dancing and singing and returned to their stations we had been sitting there for a good 15 minutes without even having our water glasses filled.

  9. How much was the tour? What day was it on? Thanks for the information!

I can answer your question as we did the tour on the Breeze in February.

$95 per person and held on the morning of the last sea day.

I would also agree that it was very much worth it.

  10. We were on this same cruise and I had asked one of our assistant waiters if they get to go home for a while after the trip and he said no, they have to stay on and do other duties. I thought that was strange. Still wondering if that is true or not. Our assistant waiter was slightly creepy...lol. At times he would just come over and hang out in the corner near our table and try and participate in our conversation. That's totally fine usually, but there is a fine line when its too much. He crossed the line a few times. One time, asking my wife's brother if he was going to buy weed in Jamaica and then telling him how he can sneak it on board. Telling us how he drinks till 2am and gets up at 6 to work again. Etc. Sometimes interrupting our table conversation with these weird anecdotes...like, "Ok Omar, i guess we will talk about that now!" I think he was fond of a couple of the girls in our group.

Overall, i think he was just trying to relate, but it was awkward. I don't hold it against him at all, i think i would be a little awkward too if i worked his kind of schedule.

Otherwise, we found service to be above average. A few of the bartenders seemed off a few times...I asked for a different tequila in one of my drinks at the blue iguana and was told no, i wouldn't notice the difference anyway. He made up for it later, but i was a little taken back initially.

I loved the cruise director. I think it was the first cruise i had been on when i realized the difference a good cruise director could make.

Most of the crew will stay on board and assist with many of the activities going on during dry dock. They will move furniture around, tear up carpets, be on fire watch whenever welding is taking place, take inventory of items on board, cook and serve the workers on board, etc. And cleaning, lots and lots of cleaning. They most likely will get a couple of days off to enjoy the Freeport area and get a little break.

  11. I'm curious as to your comment about not being able to see Flick because the two leads apparently jumped ship in Jamaica. Did they actually announce that was the reason or was this "ship rumor"?

We were on the cruise before you (Feb. 12-19) and during our week they were switching over the production show cast. So we actually had half the shows performed by the old cast and half done by the new cast. The difference between the two casts was very noticeable. It almost felt like the new cast was unprepared and could have used a few more weeks of rehearsal. In the middle of the 88 Keys show they actually had to stop the show for about 10 minutes due to some technical and performance issues.

I'm wondering if they possibly didn't perform Flick for your sailing due to the new cast not being prepared enough to do the show. It seems weird to me that the lead performers would have jumped ship after only being on board for one week.

  12. Do you go to the shore excursion desk to sign up for Behind the Fun or customer service desk?

Some have posted that they have gone to the customer service desk and booked the tour, however most (including us) people signed up at the excursion desk. In fact at the excursion desk they actually put our names onto a clipboard and the tickets were not delivered to our cabin until the next day. So I'm not how they would keep track of who has signed up if they are using two different locations.

  13. On the Breeze last month we got on board about 30 minutes after the first groups started boarding. We went straight to the excursion desk and we were the beginning of the second group. So we were persons 17-20 of the 32 people allowed to take the tour on that cruise. When we walked away the couple behind us in line said "we want the same tour as they signed up for".

I would do it first thing. It only takes about 5 minutes to register.

  14. Debating on if my kids would enjoy something like this 16 and 12 or if it is something I should just do with the hubby

We took our 13 & 11 year old daughters on the tour and they enjoyed it and learned a lot.

If you have kids that are interested in how things work or like to see the "behind the scenes" of things they will really like it.
