  1. That's really a shame. We asked the very first day about doing a behind the scenes tour and they told us they weren't doing them as there were many parts of the ship that weren't ready yet. Doesn't surprise me. The front desk had to have been all new people. You never got the same answer twice. Anyway, done it on the Noordam but would have been nice to see.

On the question for the ship card to keep the lights on. I just use an old credit card whenever I travel. Drop it in and never think about it again. It worked like a charm.

Also we did receive an inaugural plate. Somebody said they didn't do it.

We know on our deck that they were still building rooms because one day we saw about 20 room stewards and staff carrying in the big screen TV's in boxes. We were told that these were for the rooms not completed yet.

We were on the Mozart deck 6.

  2. It is $350.00 per couple for 7 days. There have been some glitches but we have used everyday. Yes there was one day it was cold. We were told it was 3 degrees but boy you could feel it. They fixed that the next day after we reported it. Then the following day there were no bubbles. That too was fixed. The shower beside the pool is stupidly hot. All in all its still very nice and I'm glad we have the package.

The going line right now us we are trying to fix doesn't matter where you are on the ship.

  3. We are on here now. It is considerably bigger. The basting racks probably go 3/4 of the way around. There is wall seating now which is great for short people. The centre is missing the steering wheel but it still blows bubbles and the centre overhead sprayers spray so hard you really have to enjoy the blasting. There is falling rain all the way around the outside so that's enjoyable. The pool was great the first day, second day to cold, tonight no bubbles. Glitches to work out. The cost is $350.00 for 7 days but we bought the 19 day package for $599.00. Really helps my arthritis.

  4. We too are on it and it is a stretch to compare to most HAL ships but in its own right it's beautiful. We talked to some staff today and many of the staterooms are not ready yet. There are glitches and lots of things to work on but she is a beauty. To those wondering about the thermal suite size. It's way bigger than any other HAL. Yesterday it was to cold, and tonight there were no bubbles but the good thing was a felt like GOLDILOCKS complaining.

  5. We have booked a tour on both days in St. Petersburg. It sounds as though you cannot just walk about in SPB unless you have a tour booked because of the Visa issue. Can we go and visit shops and restaurants after our tours or is this not allowed. We love trying out the local bars for cuisine and local beer.

  6. I've sailed this lovely lady 5 times. Most recently in February 2014. They had just returned it with some new amenities. The Pinnacle Grill staff are wonderful and extremely professional. Do not let one negative Nellie spoil your good time. Back on in September to see the Mediterranean. So excited. Trip Number 6.
