    Hi

I just did a dummy booking from LHR to Mia round trip, you just do not need to use the return ticket. Remember May 6th is the coronation of King Charles so prices may be a bit higher.
I have used a hotel at Heathrow and to stay there from May 3 to May 7 with a direct flight to Miami in economy is GBP£1650 for 2 pax or £825 each. You can book this with a £150 deposit.

I tried to change my location but it would not let me.

The hotel was the Renaissance at Heathrow, the train Ito central London takes about 20 minutes but London will be very busy that weekend.
    hope this helps

Thanks for the information. The coronation may be a good reason flights are so expensive.  Using Celebrity's service for one way flights you always would get a significant discount then booking directly with the airlines.  We never paid more than $450 for a one way international flight.  If that 825 pounds per person also includes the hotel that is not a bad deal.  We might just skip this one.

What you’re seeing now is in no way the end of the story.

Thanks, Checked several times same price quote. Even put in different return days.   Will wait a day or two and try again.  Thanks for your reply.

It looks as though the airlines have definitely hiked their rates direct a lot.   So, I imagine they have increased the price to Celebrity also.

Out of curiosity I did a multi-city search on the "Flights by Celebrity" site.  NYC to Miami, London to Miami and got a fare for $700.0.  This obviously does not help us as we live in the Miami area.  Typically purchasing a one-way ticket directly with the Airlines was more expensive, That is why using "Flights by Celebrity" was such a great service.  They always gave us great discounted fares.  Even with airfares going up, $1800.0 is extreme.  Thank you for your reply

  4. I have taken 8 Repositioning Cruises with Celebrity which require only a one way airfare.  We have been using their service, "Flights by Celebrity" to book our flights.  In the past we have gotten extremely discounted rates using this service.  We were about to book another repositioning cruise on April 20 on the Silhouette when I was getting one way price quotes of $1,895.0.  This was one way airfare from London to Miami or Fort Lauderdale.  I thought it might be a computer glitch with Celebrity's website as that was the price being quoted for all the economy flights.  I called Celebrity and they confirmed these were the prices.  We used to pay no more than $450.0 for a one-way ticket.  Has any one else experienced this issue?  If this is the case the 6 of us will not be booking this trip, when the airfare is more expensive then the cruise.

  6. Thank You for your response.  I did not have my own insurance or Princess Insurance.  I followed the instructions in their letter and emailed them the "refund request form."  Since I did not have "Travel Insurance" there was no need to submit anything that was not covered.  There was nothing in their letter regarding AON or any other insurance carrier.

Princess's Covid Policy stated that I would receive an onboard credit for the days I was in quarantine on the ship and reinvursed  for my hotel and meals.

I have now been on hold for 2 hours waiting to speak to someone in "Princess Customer Solutions."

    Thanks again for your reply.

  7. I contracted Covid while sailing on the Enchanted Princess on a 14 day Cruise.  I was in quarantine on the ship for 4 days.  At the end of the cruise, Princess bused me to a hotel where I spent the required additional 6 days in quarantine.  In a letter I received from Princess they indicated my expenses would be paid and I would receive a cruise credit for the days I was in quarantine on the ship.  I submitted to Princess by email the required "refund request form."  It has been 11 weeks.  I have received no refund or cruise credit.  I have sent follow up emails and spent hours on hold with "Customer Service" only to be transferred to another department.   I have received no status of my claim.  Does anyone have suggestions how to resolve this issue?  Thank You.

Frank are you still going or did you bail? Recently found out that a friend from previous cruise is booked too. We had a large group on that TA and some of are still friends. It sure make the crossing more fun. I am staying for the 11 day "Mystery Cruise" so they are calling it. Disappointed about St Petersburg but hey! We have a fun Med cruise after a few days break in Paris. I am just glad to be getting out of the house after 2 years.

Hi Ike, We are still booked on the TA and the Voyager of the  Seas.   A friend of ours has also booked this cruise.  Reading all the drama on the other thread has kept me amused.  We are living during unprecedented times with covid and now the  war in the Ukraine.  I am also just glad to be travelling again after 2 1/2 years.  Although living in Florida during the pandemic has not been to bad compared to my friends up north.

    See you on board,

    Frank

I called Princess about the drop in prices. I knew they wouldn’t budge because we are inside the final payment part of the contract. But it was several hundred dollars less each again. They had already lowered my payment several times. They did let me UPG to a much nicer cabin for 100.00 more. It was good for me either way. I was happy with what I originally paid, great prices on the first/business EZ Air, and the other perks. We finalized our hotels/flights around Europe in the last few days so hopefully plans don’t fall apart. I’m sure the ship will sail but not sure if we will get to make our ports in Russia.

I read where Princess will be doing testing as necessary for flights or ports at no costs to us.

    Ike

We are still hoping to get an upgrade to a better cabin.  Since the ship is half full I don't see it being a problem.   We are also concerned on the escalating situation with the Ukraine.  I have been counting the days to this trip and trying to keep a positive attitude it will be smooth sailing.

  11. Ike,

I have several friends that have came down with covid/omicron. Most say it is like a very bad cold that lasts about 4 to 5 days.  Hope you are both feeling better.  The Regal, that is another great ship.  Also a nice itinerary.

We have a day in Copenhagen before we board the Voyager of the Sea for a 7 day cruise to Norway.  I wonder if we will be tested before we get off Enchanted?   Will we be able to use those test results when boarding Voyager?

I have no doubt we will be able to get an upgrade.  We are getting close to sailing.  Unless something significantly changes we are going to be onboard.  Starting to get excited.  I am so looking forward to this trip.

    Hi Frank,

So glad to know we are not the only ones booked. Prices dropped the last few days and I called and got even better fare. It came with a drink package and gratuties. I used to always get wifi and other stuff included since I am Elite. But, they changed those benefits too dang it. We cruised Great Britain and surrounding area a couple years ago. I have always wanted to cruise up to the North on a mail run. Where they stop at every other small town going up and then stop at the others coming back. This is the 3/4th time I have booked the Baltics and something has caused a cancellation every time. Hope it makes this time. This Omnicon might be a dealbreaker. Hoping not! Stay in touch

We live on the southern coast of Texas. Corpus Christi.

We also were able to get a reduced rate on this cruise.  We did not get your perks but a nice onboard credit.  I did the "Baltic Sea Cruise" several years ago on Princess.  It was one of the best cruises I have taken.  I have had several friends that have been on a cruise these past few weeks.  All the ships have been at half capacity.  All felt safe and had a great time.  I have already had two cruises cancelled.  I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

I see it often.    All seats on airlines are generally capacity limited and when last seat in that booking code is sold out the prices jump up to the next lowest price.   If you play around with it you will find different prices on different dates.   Keep looking or from what I understand they have recently switched to a new program where you don't pay until final payment and if the fare decreases you can call in and get that rate.

Thanks for your reply.  Speaking to others they think it may have to do with the grounding of the 737 Max aircrafts.  It makes sense since the prices jumped up right after the crash.  I have been using the service for years and never have seen such a big price increase this far out from the sailing.

  14. We have used Celebrity's "Air to Sea" program to book our one way flights on our past 6 Trans Atlantic crossings.  We have gotten some excellent airfares using this service.  We are currently booked on a 10 day Mediterranean cruise in October on the Constellation.  We will  only need a one way airfare as we are taking a transatlantic sailing on another ship back to the states.  We have been tracking flights on "Air to Sea."  They have recently changed significantly.  TAP went from $162 to $600.  A direct flight out of Miami on Ailitalia went from $320 to over $500.0.  I understand airfares will fluctuate and go up.  I have never seen such a price increase this far out.  Has anyone else recently experienced this issue.  Thank You
