Good point, although that all depends on when you sell.

Exactly. As with all shares, you've lost nothing when the price falls. You only lose money when you panic and sell when they are low. Hang on to them for the long term and the price will come back up. After all you are looking to purchase them to get the benefit of the onboard credit. As others have said the onboard credit is not guaranteed the benefit is renewed at the AGM along with Director's benefits and I don't think the Director's are going to give themselves benefits but take them away from shareholders. There would be a revolt if they did.

Now is a good time to buy while they are low.

I have used Sydney airport shuttles to and fro Sydney, for many years, because that is the least expensive way for a single person.  The hotel where I stay in Potts Point (De Vere Hotel) has set times for shuttles to the airport, which you book the day before.  I have a phone number to ring for transfer from the airport to hotel, when I arrive in Sydney.

When my daughter is working, she takes the train from Kings Cross to the airport, because it is a quicker service.

You obviously use a company other than Airbus Shuttle.

There used to be a shuttle that did a circuit of the city at regular times. Tickets were available at 7 Eleven stores which are on every second corner in the CBD. I don't know if they still operate and I don't know where you catch them for the Airport > City run.

  3. If you are thinking of taking a shuttle from the Sydney airport to the OPT read the reviews on the following link before booking and wasting your money.

    https://www.productreview.com.au/p/airbus-airport-shuttle.html

Who bothers to read reviews of a shuttle service, after all it is just a shuttle from the airport to the OPT, how bad could it be?

We found out. This one could be considered a scam.

They should have ironed the bugs out on the majestic by next December.

New ships seem to be unorganised and lack good staff.

    An tassie is always good.

I would hope they have ironed out any bugs after more than 18 months.

Majestic Princess was launched 31st March 2017.

I'll be very disappointed next week if there are still bugs that have not been sorted out.

  5. With Princes you can bring one bottle on with no charge unless you take it to the MDR.

The policy says one bottle for consumption in your room. In theory you could be charged corkage if you consume it anywhere but your room but who is going to police it?

  6. There is a written policy you can find on line, or someone can post here.

When you printout your luggage labels you will find the wine policy is on it. Should you have any problems with security when boarding just show them the policy on you luggage label. This happens sometimes because the security people in the terminal are not cruise line employees and the policy is different for every cruise line.

  7. Cold Storage on Orchard Road has Chilean white wine for about 20 Singapore dollars. We found it quite good! Not sure about red but guess it would be similar

Probably equivalent to a Dan Murphy Cleanskin from SE Australia at AU$4. Not bad either but that's what I call cheap.

  8. the hotel outlets will require a converter. I bought one a the Woolworths in Cains for about $12.00 USD.

At $12 from Woollies it will be an adapter not a converter.

Don't mix up adapters and converters or you will find your appliance may go up in smoke.

An adapter merely changes from one socket type to another. The voltage out is still the same. Suitable for any device/appliance that will accept either 110v or 240v.

A converter changes the voltage from 110v to 240v or vice versa depending on what type you need/buy.

  9. We were there earlier this month and it was free for Seniors Card Holders

If you hold an Australian Seniors Card you can get free travel on SA public transport between 9am and 3pm and between 7pm and 7am and concession fares in peak times but you have to get the seniors ticket from the Metro office in the CBD or the information counter at the airport. The Cruise Passenger Metro Card is for all visiting cruise passengers irrespective of age.

The rail service to Outer Harbour was stopped for a considerable time, not sure how long but it was months, for repairs to the line so once it was opened again the SA Government made travel on that line free for a limited time as compensation. I know when we visited at the end on January 2018 the free period was still going.

I think there is a reciprocal Seniors Card agreement between Australia and New Zealand, so the Kiwi Seniors should get the same discounts.

  10. Pity the Brisbane City Council are too short sighted to put on a temporary public transport bus service from the Grain Terminal to the city on cruise days at a decent price, eg $10 all day on public transport like Adelaide. I lot of people don't get off visiting cruise ships when they dock at the Grain Terminal because of the expense of a round trip to the CBD.

Good on the cruise lines that do put on a free shuttle but surely the Brisbane City Council should provide the service to bring tourists in to Brisbane. They spend enough elsewhere in the name of tourism.

In Adelaide you dock at Outer Harbour and there is a train station about 100m from the wharf. There you purchase a one day Cruise Passenger Metro Card for $10 which gives you unlimited travel for the day on the Adelaide Public Transport system, ie. buses, trains and trams.

  11. Princess offers ukulele lessons on all Hawaiian & South Pacific cruises.

They've never had them on any South Pacific cruise we've been on. They did, however, have them on a Diamond Princess cruise of SE Asia as well as glockenspiel classes.

  12. Its A$15 per session, or buy 4 get 1 free, so A$60 for 5 sessions.

Went only twice, although nice its just a series of hot tubs, a sauna and steam room, and a nice change area etc.

Must cost a bit to run and staff, on each occasion i used it i was the only one, reception staff said that was usually the case, Princess must run at a considerable loss for the months its in Aus/NZ.

Not sure i would pay the US$20 it costs in Japan.

I went a couple of times on an SE Asia cruise and there were only two both times.

As you say, I guess the numbers must increase on a Japanese cruise.
