You are not the only one. Ponant's website is awful.

We are sailing on the 14th in the Seychelle Islands. Ponant texted me this morning with the boarding location and times.

It comes via FedEx in the US. About three weeks prior to sailing. Almost identical to the electronic version. You get a little blue leather (faux) pouch, two leather bag tags and about six paper bag tags. Anticlimactic.

We sail in Dec in the Seychelles. Very excited

They had tours in both cities

Even though we had to skip Sardinia due to weather issues, I would not hesitate to cruise in the Med during that time of year. In general, the temperatures were very nice. Only needed a light jacket. Rained for an hour or two on several days. The nice part is that we were always the only ship in port and there were NO CROWDS. We had two nights that were tipsy while under way.

We are skipping Sardinia today because of extreme weather in that area. Captain said they expected 80 mph winds and 30 foot seas. Sorry to miss the port but happy to skip the weather.
Awesome ship.

I figured out how to post the photos here, but they had to be resized so they are very small. If you want large photos, email me.
Looking thru the opening in the side of the ship it looks like you have a bar across your windows that may restrict you to your room. There is absolutely nothing on the front deck of the ship as you can see. I would call Viking and discuss the details with them.

I took 2 photos today that will give you a little more info. Send me an email at my username on gmail and I will send the photos to you.

Opps. Hit send by accident. I have looked at your room from the dock below (my view limited by the bow of the boat). My guess is your view of the ocean in front is limited not by any walls near your stateroom but by the walls that surround the bow itself. I will try to get a higher vantage point to see more details. I am pretty sure there is no public access on the bow.

I am on the Star until March 6th.

Most men are in slacks and collared shirt. Some are not. Very few ties and very few jackets in the main dining room. The World Cafe is more casual. Manfredi's is a bit more dressy. It is your vacation! Don't let others dictate.

I agree. Viking Air's practices and policies are totally inconsistent with the rest of Viking and their image.

Layers

Hard to answer as we don't know where you are going.
I have a photo backpack and lots of pro gear. The Vatican security people let me in with the backpack buy them when they gear they asked me to stop talking photos as they thought I was going to sell the photos. Dime don't allow flash photos as it damages the art. Others are protecting thier intellectual property rights. Some museums have lockers, others don't. Email the museums you are going to and ask them.

Our DV1 is an aft facing cabin on a high deck.

I live in the US and have US credit cards. No FTF
-
I understand that. I think you can get all six currencies at the airport in your departure port city.
-
Most US Banks and ATMs will not have foreign coins. Most currency kiosks at European airports can give you all 6 currencies including coins.
-
The more $$$ you spend for a room the earlier you can book excursions. DV category can book 67 days in advance for excursions and 60 days food dining.
-
Could you please describe the level of cold weather clothing you have needed for day trips and for evenings on the ship while under way. We are planning layers for February. How many layers is the question. 60 degrees at sea with a brisk wind and high humidity can be quite cold.
-
Both your statements are true
-
There is only one free tour in each port
-
We are taking the Grand Med cruise on the Star in February to all the same ports plus a few. We are very interested in your experience in each port and overall thoughts on winter weather issues, if any.
