  1. Cabin Number-  6026

    Ship-  Azamara Quest

    Month/Year sailed -   September 2019 – 2 cruises B2B

Would you choose this room again- Yes

    Is noise an issue- No

    Balcony size Normal/Larger/Smaller- Normal

Any other comments: This cabin has a connecting door to 6024 but we did not find that this was an issue. There was occasionally a little muffled noise from the cabin next door but may have been the same even without the connecting door. There is curved slightly smaller sofa in the room instead of the normal one, we found this fine for us but if you are on the larger size it maybe a little cosy. This cabin is very close to the lifts and stairs so it is easy to get around.

  2. We are returning to Azamara after 4 cruises on Holland America, we haven't sailed with Celebrity or Princess.  We found with HAL we seemed to have our key card out all the time and those small charges add up that's for sure.  We like having the all-inclusive drinks and pre-paid gratuities on Azamara.  The better coffee is extra charge on HAL but it's not much better than the "free", the Mosaic coffee on Azamara is much better.  We went to HAL after the Aussie $ dropped making Azamara a bit pricey. The Azamara buffet is way better in our opinion.

The officers on HAL were out and about and sometimes quite visible but most didn't even bother to speak.  We are not wanting to become best buddies with them but it doesn't hurt to say good morning. In our experience the Azamara officers are always interested in stopping to ask how everything is going and have a chat.  The make you feel at home the minute you get on the ship.

The main reason we cancelled our upcoming HAL cruise and booked with Azamara is that HAL don't, in our opinion, pay enough attention to infection control.  We came home sick each time from HAL and have never come home sick from Azamara.  There were people really sick with a flu like illness from day one on each HAL cruise and it went right through the ship.  They did nothing to try to stop the spread.  They were not monitoring the hand hygiene stations at the entry to dining areas, and few used them.  They allowed people to refill water bottles from the water dispensers.  Crew would stand and watch people who were clearly sick filling their bottles with the dispenser inside the neck of the bottle and not say anything despite signs asking people to use a glass to fill bottles.  People would not be stopped from touching food, bread/bisuits etc and returning it to the serving tray.

If Azamara is within your budget give them a go.  We won't be going back to HAL.  For us we are willing to pay a bit extra to not come home sick each time.

  3. It has been a couple of years since we were last on Azamara but when we were, we found they did a great job with dry cleaning.

Has anyone used the dry cleaning recently and do they still do a great job?

Also does anyone have an idea about the cost?

As would a 24 hour help yourself fruit box by the coffee machines in Windows with a simple selection - apples, oranges, bananas and grapes.  In this era of healthy eating Azamara should be encouraging guests to eat fruit.  I agree with the comments about the sweet treats, again, a tray of sweets to help yourselves say at Mosaic, in the Living Room and perhaps on leaving the cabaret might be a compromise for those who want something sweet before bedtime.

Agree with this idea 100%, if it is available from a help yourself area there would be no need to place it in very cabin.

We also wouldn't miss the sweet treats if they disappeared from the room and I feel many people would feel the same.

Thanks, Anne for this spreadsheet, so useful!

We are thinking of booking Journey cabin 6027 and I see there are good comments on the spread sheet. Wondering if anyone can assure me that, as it is an interconnecting cabin, there is no noise issue from the connected cabin?

    Thanks

    Brenda

    Hi Brenda

In the end did you book cabin 6027 on Journey back in 2017?

We are looking to book the same cabin on the port side and we are wondering if the interconnecting door is a problem. Is there much noise coming through the door, and do they have seat to place the lost couch?

    Thanks

    Brendan

  6. I would find your cabin spreadsheet very useful. I have just booked - first cruise - and been allocated cabin 8002. Has anyone stayed in this cabin?

I was concerned about the large blanked-out area on Deck 8 right by my cabin. I presume these are service areas/crew quarters?? Would this intrude on my

peace and quiet in any way??

    Any information gratefully received.

    advance thanks

    LondonLinda

    LondonLinda,

We were in 8002 earlier this year and love this position on the ship. It is really quiet, only an occasional officer going past. Not too far from the stairs and lift. We have booked 8000 for our next cruise. Hope this helps

    Aussie Bren.
