I can understand that your liked the Mercury. We love the ship. We Went last year and we're going again , possibly for the last time, in a few weeks time.
I Think that your observations are correct. The interior of the ship is really nice.
The biggest difference on the outside is obviously the balconies. On the inside it's the addition of the enourmous sauna landscape in the aft. We spent a couple of hours there - every afternoon. That's how nice it is.
The reason that it's probably going to be our last Cruise is that she is leaving the fleet reasonably soon in order to join Thomson Cruises.

Hi Caspall !
Thanx for your post. Please tell us something about the ports. Are there any shuttles provided free of charge in Venice, Corfu or anywhere else. We're going on the Med next week :-)

Thank you crowson1825 for an impressive presentation.
Would you (or anyone else) happen to know if it's possible to get regular tap water served in the MDR on Costa ships just like on other cruise lines?
I'm also curious to know if anyone has any experience of the Squok club?
How is it compared to the kid's clubs of NCL, Carnival or MSC?

I don't know- You'll have to look into the legal mattet. Ask your cruise line. I'm cruising with my six-year-old in Feb. I'll bring such a letter from my wife. In addition to the letter I'll bring a legal proof of relationship since my daughter has a different surname than her parents.

I saw no enforcement of the dress code on my MSC Mediterranean cruise. I wore a black shirt without tie and black jeans to formal night and no one questioned me. Most men wore jackets so if you are the sort of person who likes to fit in then I would suggest you wear one.
Thanx for your valuable comment gek. It really solves my problem since I just cannot bring a jacket with the airlines 0 (NO) bags policy. :)

I was never on the ship during the Celebrity era, only as a Mein Schiff, but she is very nice today. For those who miss her but got a hang up about the German language there will soon be an opportunity travelling on Marella, Tui cruises British "sister" as the old Celebrity ships are getting tranfered over to the British cruise line.
