  1. Was there in November and no issues at all. They’re still doing some road work but not nearly as bad as its been over the last couple of years. We choose to park at the terminal. Easy in and out and the last thing I want to do when we get back is wait around for a ride to my ride!

  2. Hi all,

We are a family of 5 and will be arriving back from our cruise in Ft. Lauderdale at 7 am on a Friday morning in March - and our flight is not until 6:45 pm.

Does Royal Carribean offer any service for those in our situation?

Are there hotels that offer a room for a day at a reasonable price? I saw something about the Rodeway Inn but the reviews are mixed. I tried to find previous threads on this topic but could not.

    Thanks!

Stay away from the Rodeway Inn. Take my word.

  3. I am wondering about sending out my laundry while on the ship. I have heard they use hot water...is that correct? I only use cold at home as we have a "Purewash" for our machine. I am concerned about ruining clothes. Thank you.

You heard correct. They do use very hot water. I would be VERY cautious about sending your laundry out to be done. We had a few things get trashed, shrink etc. Have heard of others having problems as well over the years.

  4. In addition to the tiki bar Hilton Marina has an onsite restaurant that can accommodate large groups. No doubt you'll need to let them know in advance but the food is good and reasonable ( as far as I'm conernened). I'm pretty sure the menus are on the hotels website under dining

  5. This is our 1st cruise out of Port Everglades. We have a very early flight the day after disembarkation. Can you recommend a hotel with reliable shuttle service? We will not have rental car. Many thanks!

Hilton Marina. Its 10 minutes to the airport and has shuttle. you can also grab the water taxi right at the Hilton and head to Las Olas Blvd. plenty of shopping, restaurants and people watching. You can ride the taxi all day for like $7. Hotel also has great poolside tiki bar and good onsite restaurants. Bee staying there for years.

  6. Depends on the ship. On Princess you can switch your cell to airplane mode and log into this ships wireless which allows you to text to others in your group or on board and read the daily patter at no cost. Internet packages are available. Phone calls go through your carrier at premium rates.

  7. We're around Sarasota and usual head over the day before. Even though it's only anbout 3 hour drive I prefer to be there in the morning as opposed to dealing with traffic and the unforeseen the day of. Usually stay at the Doubltree on Atlantic in Cocoa Beach. Nice pool, bar / lounge (if that's your thing) and good food. They put out a nice pizzza from the brick oven t the bar. 10 minute drive to the he port.

  8. Nothing wrong with the Hilton Marina. Most people fail to get a room in the Tower, and get a marina view or pool view room because they are cheaper. We have stayed in the tower with a intercoastal view, or a cruise ship view, and the rooms were 3 1/2- 4 star rooms. Much nicer than the Embassy Suites that i would rate a 2 1/2 star for the room it self. Water taxi stops just next door to this hotel. The marina rooms i have (read) have a musty smell to them.

Agreed! I've stayed at just about every hotel near the port over the years on business and my go to for the last couple years has been the Hilton Marina. Always get a south facing room in the Tower over looking the ships which as of my last stay in March has been completely renovated. Great Tiki bar with good food, good restaurants and all of 5 minutes to the port.

  9. Reviews are subjective. Sailed Emerald a couple times and we had a blast. Ship was clean, great crew and food was good as well. We did a Halloween cruise a couple years ago on Emerald which was a great time. Lots of folks dressed up, costume contest, prizes etc. Good time.
