  1. We are booked on RCCL Serenade for back to back Australia/New Zealand cruise in October. What are the chances that it will happen?  We were also Spending five days in Sydney Australia before going onto the cruise ship. We would not be coming directly from USA but from a stop in Tahiti. Do you think our dream vacation has any possibility of happening?

Thanks for any help you can give us.

  2. We were just on the millennium sailing 14 days out of Shanghai to Tokyo in October. A Chinese visa was required. Due to the itinerary going from Shanghai (China) to Seoul South Korea and then going back to Beijing China they emailed us right before the cruise that we had to have it.

I’d say just get it and be safe. You really don’t want to travel that far and not be able to get onboard.

  3. Staying in Tokyo for 2 days after cruise on Millenium.  Any advice for what area of Tokyo we should be looking for a hotel?  Any specific hotels?

  4. We are traveling before a cruise. Going to Ireland and Scotland on tour. They are telling us that all prescription meds have to be in individual bottles. My husband takes over a dozen pills daily and usually sorts them at home in those pill dividers. We've traveled to Europe a couple of years ago with the pills sorted without a problem. Is this a new TSA rule?

  6. At orient bay in st Martin. Yesterday we had strong winds and rain. Today is sunny but the winds are so strong that they don't allow the sun umbrellas to be open. We also heard that there is a road blockage getting here some kind of protest. Hope cruisers don't have trouble getting back in time for sail away.

  7. Booked an 1pm flight home after cruise - Great time so don't have to rush or the opposite wait too long. Too good to be true. American Airlines canceled the flight and put us on the 8pm flight home. Still non stop but now what to do in Miami? We'll have our luggage so sightseeing not an option. Don't feel comfortable renting car and leaving luggage exposed when we park the car to go anywhere. There will be 4 of us so the luggage won't fit in the truck. 4 suitcase, 4 carry on and 4 people.

Anyone know how many hours ahead American will accept the luggage? Does Celebrity have the service that takes the luggage at the pier and you see it again when you're plan lands? Is there a "baggage hold" service at the airport? If so, where? What is the cost? Where do you park while you're dropping the luggage off at the airport?

Looking for any option that allows us to enjoy the day without worrying and lugging the luggage around Miami.

Any ideas of day use hotels?

    Appreciate any help.

  8. No pets are allowed. It's not just "guide dogs" that are permitted. Presumably the dog was properly certified as a therapy dog and allowed on board on that basis.

It was a Pomeranian or Pekingese. That size dog. Didn't know the size dog was used as service animal.

  9. . Recently on the Getaway and was very surprised (shocked really) to see a lady in a motor scooter in the very back of the theater with a small dog in her lap. It was real and she had the pets small crate next to her. Just saw her that one night. Does Norwegian allow dogs on board? This was definitely not a guide dog.

By the way, we loved the ship. Being avid cruisers (over 20 now) it was wonderful to have selection of restaurants, great shows, and the best cruise director we have ever had - JC

Great for NCL to think outside the box and offer unique shows and meal options.

  10. We signed up with RomeInLimo for 4 stops on our recent Med Cruise on Serenade of the Seas. Been home less than a week

We just want to thank all of our guides - Clara in Florence, Francesco in Rome, Diego in Naples & Alex in Sicily. They were so different but all so knowledgeable, and professional. We left each and every port thinking that we had made new friends. These drivers/guides are so kind and actually seem to care that you have the best time on your tour. We had private tours for just the 4 of us at each stop. This made it possible for us to see so much more and get dropped off closer than the big buses offered by the cruise line.

In one day we started the day visiting the Leaning tower of Pisa, driving through the countryside on way to the olive oil factories, ending the day at Florence, visiting the museum to see "David" and walking the streets of Florence and we were back to the ship before 5pm. Thank you Clara.

Another day we visited every site that Rome has to offer. We actually visited not just a drive by. It was a dream come true for all of us. We feel that we definitely saw everything there was to be seen at each port. Thank you Francesco and also for getting us back in time to the ship with all that crazy Rome traffic.

We hired guide for Pompeii and the Vatican museum as suggested through RomeInLimo and both Alessia and Michela were excellent. Michela brought Pompeii to life for us. We could almost see the everyday life was like in Pompeii through her vivid descriptions. Highly recommend spending the extra money for guides at these two places. Diego took us to lunch in a small restaurant in Positano that had amazing food and breath taking views of the Amalfi coast. Thank you Diego.

Finally Sicily and a trip to Mt Etna, Taormina and then on to the all important shopping in Messina. Thank you Alex.

I highly recommend this company. We chose to pre-pay for these tours before we left home. It was a little scary sending money to someone that you only heard of on the internet but they were so professional and answered all our emails inquiries very quickly. It made us very secure in trusting them and our trust was not misplaced. They delivered on their promises and then some with the most professional, knowledgeable staff that we have ever had the pleasure of touring with. Thank you all so much for making this trip so special for us.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them. Having just come back last Friday, I'm more than eager to talk about our amazing experience with this company.

  11. We did get an email in January from delta about a time change. Just a couple of minutes. It didn't say oh by the way. We changed your plane and sorry but you aren't together any more. Would have been nice. That was more important than telling us we'd leave 2 minutes later.

We checked all the airlines direct and they were quoting $1100pp. That's why we grabbed the $800 through ChoiceAir.. I may not trust them again.

  12. Never thought to check once we had confirmed seats. Lesson learned. Hope someone reading this post will be wiser and it won't happen to them.

Anyone fly in the comfort economy seats? Are they worth the upgrade?

  13. Anyone else have problems with their air fare. We booked through choice air back last August for cruise out of Barcelona may 2014. Got fare for about $800 pp. best I could find at the time. Upgraded directly through delta for their comfort economy seats. $69 for more room better reclining seats and other perks. We choose our seats etc.

Checking flights last week and Delta changed the plane back in January. They moved our seats. The plane has a 2 4 2 across figuration for seating. So now instead of being in AB seating we are in C and F seats. Not together. Not near the window. The same with our friends that we are traveling with.

Called Delta & called choice air. Called RCCL. Delta said they notified choice air because the fare was like a tour and the group was thru them. Choice air hedged about why we weren't notified in January. First said they sent email but when pressured couldn't tell us when. RCCL doesn't want to do anything either. We were able to move to other seats side by side after talking to supervisor at delta but the friends we are flying with are still in the C and F seats. Area sold out now. Hoping that the folks in either D or E seats will move so they can sit together.

Sort of put a damper on the excitement of the cruise. Can they just move you like that without notifying you? Any help or advise appreciated.
