    Lunchtime!

The $1 “survival lunch” I packed (a frozen quinoa, sweet potato, chick pea, spinach bowl) was NOT appealing to me, so I went and got sushi from Publix. It’s almost too pretty to eat!

I wish they had Publix in Illinois!  Every time I fly to FL for a cruise or disney I stop there for a sub immediately

Didn't think it'd still be cold enough for the kids to be asking for soup for dinner at the end of April. 🫠🫠🫠

Serious warm up on da way tomorrow though.

My SIL lives in Harvey Cedars and used to have a house in Beach Haven. My DH and his family lived in Love Ladies before he went off to college.

That's awesome!  LBI is a wonderful place....rough retirement plans w/ the wife now are to have two smaller places and snowbird....LBI for summers, Orlando for proximity to family / disney / cruises in the winter!

LBI is the best. Enjoy! 😁

Thats why we're extending to two weeks this year!  We'll be there for 15 days total (two one week rentals plus a night at the holiday inn manahawkin between them so the boys can ride go karts)

Good morning Tribe Family! It's our last day aboard the Carnival Vista. Bulk of the day will be spent in the Havana area, and then of course we have to pack. It's been a great relaxing two weeks. Once off the ship tomorrow we will be heading straight home. I hope to get the review up and running by May 1st. I admit that I have been lax in keeping up with Patti's pictures, so I'll have to step it up once we get home. Have a great weekend everyone! 😎

Enjoy your last day!  Looking for your writeup, I have my final cruise this year June 8th so this will help me pass the time.  (We'll still travel a bit, but doing two weeks on the jersey shore and disney rather than cruises)

  6. Had a port change on my June Jade cruise from St Croix to Tortola, not terribly disappointed, they only had 4 shore tours available in St Croix and they were pretty dismal.  No tours on sale yet, but I remember going to Virgin Gorda with my dad so may try to bring my sons there (wife too I guess...)

The rain held out, so I was able to make it out for a walk after work. Another frustrating day over at the 'ol salt mine is in the books. I'm trying to make the best of a bad situation, but it's getting to be increasingly difficult. Not just there at work, but everything going on right now in the World at large. That's one of the things making me hesitant to venture out and find another job. I'm 100% expecting 2024 to be a bumpy ride. The decisive upcoming election that's only going to ramp up even more every single day between now and November. Two wars going on overseas that we're basically involved in, if not militarily, but monetarily. Inflation that eats up more of the average person's paycheck daily, and those are just a few off the top of my head...

If I did go out and find a new job now I'd be the new guy, and likely among the first to go if things did start to "hit the fan"... But, on the other hand, I'm going to have to make my break sooner or later, so then what? Add on top of that a drinking problem and having to keep up with "X" amount of bills every month... Anyhoo, I'm rambling now.

In the immediate term, I've got some of my hobo soup made from rotisserie chicken, broccoli, and chicken bone broth on the stove and a big glass of red wine near my right hand. Survivor is on at 8:00, and that's pretty much what I've got to look forward to this evening.

I guess that there is some light at the end of the tunnel. The Masters starts tomorrow, which is the ONE sporting event that I'm interested in on a yearly basis, so that's HUGE! Tiger is back again to see if he can earn another green jacket, but I think it'll be somebody else. Who? I have no idea, but I'm ready for the ride... The Masters is one of the only sporting events on Earth that doesn't gouge patrons. Just look at those prices!

Today was the first time I feel like I've heard your manager actually do something for your benefit (I know I'm not a long time member here or anything) but it really is a shame.  I wish I could bottle your work ethic.

I love that attitude. Let the comedians who have never flown it keep making their jokes and I'll keep stretching out my legs in a first class seat on row 1.

That Spirit seat aint far off from a domestic first class seat!  Boarding super quick too without everyone having a carryon

I'm glad to hear you had a good cruise and were able to get your kids into the program! I'm looking forward to my turn. Would you happen to know which dining room was open for lunch on embarkation day? I figure that would be a good place to meet since my son and his wife don't have the same arrival time as we do and aren't coming to the port with us. Thanks!

I dont .... I didn't really read anything on this cruise! Got on an went right to the buffet (my kids were tired so just wanted to sit there and cool off and there was a short beer line near the after staircase entrance)

  10. The cruise on the Jade was great - I tempered my expectations for my sons getting into the kids program (old ship, small kids club, 500+ kids on board), but we got them in each night (though on the final night I had to wait an hour - thankfully via an agreement with my wife I was given a steady supply of beers).

Quick thoughts - I either ate at a Specialty Restaurant or OSheehans for dinner, all were great.  Buffet was a buffet.  An afternoon of miller lites at the aft bar is my new happy place.   They nailed the update in 2022.  Roulette is better some nights than others.

Excited to get back onboard June 8th for the first 'new to me' ports since Harvest Caye was completed....Puerto Plata, and St Croix.  If any of you have been to either please let me know what i need to see / do (So far STX only has 4 shore tours...)

What a day here so far, and we've still got two hours to go... It's safe to say that my little vacation has been pretty much erased...

I dont know if it helps but I get annoyed too when 'HE' is late / doesn't show up.  People being late for things is massive pet peeve of mine (probably spent months of my life being too early myself haha)
