1. If you like one, you will probably like the other.

I use MTD, so I find the lines to be more alike than different. If you prefer traditional seatings, you will need to consider that.

My most recent sailings on each were the NCL Gem and Explorer. Both sail from the NYC area. Here is a brief comparison.

Embark/Debark: Gem, primarily for ease of debarkation.

Ship/Decor: Decor is different on both, but I had no preference. Explorer is about 40% larger and has the promenade, which gives the edge to the Explorer.

    Cabin: Even.

Food: MDR: Slight edge to Explorer. Casual dining: Edge to Gem. NCL buffet beats Explorer WJ. Explorer had no pool side dining options.

Entertainment: Even: Slight edge to NCL in theater shows quality and variety was offset by Explorer ice show and parties/parades on promenade.

Service: We had the same servers every night in MDR on Explorer. That dynamic gives an edge to RCI in MDR. Otherwise, very good on both. Hotel Director on Gem was very accessible and responsive if you needed her.

Bottom Line: We have another cruise booked on Explorer and will be booking a Gem cruise shortly if we can align our schedules. I think that about says it all.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts about NCL we are going to try it you dont know if you dont try it. For a free cruise I can not go wrong:)

  2. Hi everyone I want to know people's opinions on Norwegian Sky. I have never sail with NCL I have always sailed with RCCL just wondering about the differences between the 2. I have received a certificate from a casino for a free cruise on the Sky just want to know what to expect thank you in advance

  4. Hi all! Just booked my first RC cruise. Going to Bermuda. Yay. I am just curious if any of you have eaten in Portofino and whether or not you thought it was worth the extra money. We are from NJ so we have a lot of experience with excellent Italian food.

    Thanks for your help!

A few of us went to eat at Portofino to us it was not worth it at all food was soso service was not great. My other half had the Tuna it was over cooked when he said something to the waiter The waiter told him no it is not and enjoy it. That is just our view of Portofino we like Chops alot better

  6. Hi,

You will love your Grand Suite and yes there are perks. I haven't been on Liberty but here are a few perks that I have had.......

    * A huge room with so much space!

    * You will (should) get an invite to a captain reception and a bridge tour.

    * You will have the Concierge Club each evening from 5-8.30pm. Nibbles and free drinks (beer wine, soft drinks and mixed spirit drinks - cosmo, lemon drop, champagne cocktails etc).

The Captain and senior officers often come in and chat. The concierge will help with bookings, applying discount vouchers etc.

    * Priority tendering (if you tender).

    * Reserved seats in the theatre.

    * You can get room service off the main dining room menu. This is great.

At breakfast don't just look at what is on the order card in your room. You can get pretty well anything.

You should get nibbles to your room on formal nights and a fruit tray or two during the trip.

    * You get to go to a nice space with breakfast on disembarkation day - somewhere like Chops.

Others will add may more - but they are the main things I benefit from.

    It's great - enjoy.

    wow sounds great thanks

  7.
Royal made it very clear that they were upgrading their pricing systems this weekend. So why would you freak out that there are issues when the weekend is still ongoing?

Why don't you wait until tomorrow and then have them send you a final invoice?
When i talked to them they said all the upgades were done and the website is all set
