Thanks, everyone for your advice. We may end up storing our bags at the hotel while we do some last minute hopping around town and then proceed to the ship. The only reason we were looking to board early was to handle some onboard reservations, etc. before it was slammed later in the day. But we'll play it by ear and likely just board early afternoon.
See you all on board!

Getting ready for the Harmony Transtlantic (our first) in late October out of Barcelona. What is the earliest we will be able to board?
Trying to plan our morning/day to squeeze as much out of Barcelona but thinking of embarking if early enough and then hopping off the ship for some last minute sightseeing.

Great. Thanks! Yeah we are very blessed to be going on such an amazing trip. I'm deep into our pre-cruise planning for it and thus the question.
Appreciate the help.

Anyone ever check-in on the ship then disembark to enjoy the local port city more?
My wife and I will be on the Harmony TA from Barcelona in October. We have to check out of our hotel at 11:00. Was thinking we would board Harmony, check on board for MDR table location, dinner reservations, etc. but then would like to disembark to enjoy Barcelona some more.
We will have 3-4 hours to kill and could use it to do stuff along the Barcelona waterfront where we will not have visited otherwise.
Thoughts? Is that a bad idea? Thanks!

We saw over 50 humpback whales, two fin whales, and a ton of dolphin pods on our Alaska inside passage cruise in mid-August. Amazing!

Great input, everyone. Thanks much. The only reason we were looking to board early was to handle our specialty dining package reservations which we can't do online prior to the cruise. But even with that in mind, I think we'll just check our bags at the hotel & board early afternoon.
