Thank you Harry! :) Enjoy your upcoming cruise on her, I can't wait!

I’ve read online that it does have the outdoor screen after the dry dock. I’ll find out Sunday when I board :-)

Yay! I can't wait to find out. :) I didn't get to try it on our Alaska cruise, was just too cold and wet out there. Looking forward to it on our next cruise!

Hi All,
Having a brain fart - I know Infinity and Summit have the outside movie screen (cannot for the life of me remember what it is called). Does Connie have this also? *please say yes* I looked at a number of deck plans and cannot find it.
TYIA.

Wow - so much good information! Thank you all! I do believe you have eased my mind. :) Now I am really looking forward to this!

Hi All, I have a cruise on hold on Regal. She looks to be amazing and beautiful! My question is this - I have usually cruised Celebrity Summit/Infinity - smaller ships. On those ships there are nooks and crannies to hang out that are quieter. I am not much of a party person.
Are there places outside where I can read a book/relax/not listen to loud music? Get away from it all? This is such a much bigger ship.....
Also, how are lines for anytime dining? Buffet?
What is the general atmosphere?
Thank you in advance for any advice!!!

Really? I follow St. Maarten on facebook and they seem ready to have cruisers back this November. By January it will be even better! And OSJ will be up and running by January. I had plans to go El Yunque, they are currently closed, but I am optimistic they will be ready for visitors by January. I guess I am more optimistic. Plus, I am really wanting a vacation in January!

We are doing the island tour with Royston in St. Kitt's in January. Fingers crossed it is still happening! I see St. Kitt's is still taking cruise ships, praying for no more bad weather for all of these islands.

My daughter is vacationing in Bar Harbor and her pictures show a sea as smooth as silk.

thank you slidergirl. Off to see if there are any books to read. :)

Yup, I too have a dud of a roll call, less than twenty ppl, not active at all. The roll call on that other site is very active over 70 ppl.
Very curious what the "other site" is. Can you give me a hint? I want to check it out. Of course, I will never abandon Cruise Critic!

I imagine they are waiting to see what shape the ports are in. It will be posted on their website - many of their November cruises are posted for other ships.

Reading his lovely email makes me want to book with him for January. Will wait and see a bit.

Good link! thank you!

If you can switch without penalty then you should do so. Your post is all about you and these islands need visitors who will give a little thought to them.
I totally agree Karysa. The other poster should just switch.
I myself hope I can stop at those ports in January and help them out.

If you look at my original post, it was before Hurricane Irma devastated the Island. I had no way of knowing they would take a direct hit. Of course I am not concerned about a Catamaran now.....I'm not that ridiculous. Don't be mean.

We've got San Juan, St Thomas and St Maarten in March, 2018. I expect to make San Juan and St Thomas but St Maarten maybe not. In the event that we do we'll be reworking to budget to contribute as much as we can to the local economy. We'd much rather help that way than blindly contribute to some foundation.
We have the same islands, different cruise. Our plan is the same..... plan to help as much as possible if we stop there.

We are totally paid for a Dec 8 cruise on the Silhouette with an itinerary that includes St. Martin and Antigua. Online check in is tomorrow. I have no idea if any of the ports will change. I do know that I'm checking us in tomorrow and we'll have a great time on our cruise, whether it's the original or an altered itinerary.
This.

I am on a cruise booked to St. Maarten and St. Kitt's and St. Thomas in January, also. I am hoping we will be able to dock or tender there and help the islanders out, either by tourism or just general helping. I would guess they (the ports) will do everything in their power to get us back to their islands, but that Celebrity will do what is best and safest for us all.
Such a horrible hurricane. :(
-
Definitely going to participate in helping these folks when we are there in January. Either by giving them money through tourism, or bringing things they need, helping out, or all of the above. Hoping the docking area isn't badly damaged so they can start receiving tourism money again quickly.
-
You can also go to You Tube - people are posting videos there. I love the island of St. Martin and it so sad to see the devastation. They will need the cruise dollars even more -
I agree. I won't cancel my cruise because of this, I will want to go and support them and help out.
-
My cruise in January will be at islands all in the path of this storm. My focus will now be on helping, rather than touring.... Praying for safety for all.

Great Suggestions! Eagle doesn't work with our dock times, Mirabella is a little bigger than what we want (but the price is right!), and SXM is a little spendy for us. But, I will take them all under consideration. :)

This American believes in Global Warming. I will be in the Caribbean in January and hope to help out in whatever way I can. The islands will certainly be needing our tourist dollars even more than ever.
Does Connie have the outside movie screen?
