The weather in Alaska in September is still beautiful; just bring a jacket. Have been many times including in September. Don’t worry about putting off til next year.

Thanks, can I ask which company did the boats please? My wife and I have added ourselves to the wait list for a boat to the icebergs, but even though we requested the same time, we have been moved to two different wait lists. This was the main reason for our choosing the cruise and it seems princess dont have the ability to procure enough capacity to seat couples together!
Tasermiutcamp is who we booked with

Check Tasermiut tours. We have two booked with them (but have not used them before.)

Reykjavic Helicopters/Helo-Helicopter Service is who we used last year and will be using again this year. We booked 7 pm and it wasn’t dark, but the lighting is beautiful that time of day. This will be August.

!. I have never had a problem getting a drink for myself and my DH at the same time. . They would both be deducted from the card. FYI- a “key card” needs to remain in the slot by the cabin door in order for the lights to work. Some people bring an old hotel room key or something similar but we find it convenient to store our actual key card there.
2. Is there a headphone jack on the stateroom TV for wired headphones? Never really looked but I don’t think so.
3. The small coffee table between the sofa and window be moved around the room. I see no reason why the small balcony table couldn’t be moved inside the stateroom. We often had food placed on the desk but ate at the coffee table although it is a bit low.
I hope you enjoy your balcony. Bring a warm jacket and rain coat. Have a wonderful cruise!
Re: number 3-
the coffee table has a lever beneath so you can raise the table

There is no currency needed on the ship; however, everything will be billed and paid in US dollars

Hello all - hope everyone is well 😊. Does anyone know what type of food and snacks we can bring back on board after a shore excursion?
We have brought fresh strawberries and waffles back while in Norway and fresh baguettes back in French Polynesia

What do I need to provide to show HAL that I am a retired teacher?
I showed them a copy of my retirement benefits estimate from the state.

How can you have a Voyage of the Vikings and not go to Norway?! Norway was advertised then canceled
-
Does anyone know about this? We are/were booked on this as the second of 3 back to backs. Just got an email saying just this week is canceled; the weeks before and after are still a “go.”

We will be docking in Haugesund which I know is near Pulpit Rock, but the rock is nearer to (I think) Stavanger, which is not in the itinerary.
Anyway, I’ve been looking for a boat excursion from Haugesund up the fjord to see, not hike, Pulpit Rock. Does anyone have experience doing this? I’ve looked online exhaustively with no luck.

We are wanting to take our granddaughter to Easter Island. We’re not even sure if a cruise is the way to go, vs a tour. We are thinking of spring or fall of 2019.
What is the best time to go? Cruise or land tour? Can those of you who have done this please give us any insight?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
(I also posted on the world cruise board)
Thank you!

Please forgive me for hijacking the thread, but Eva, where/how did you do the world map in your signature?
Thanks.

Book an Uber! No taxi line. Call them and you can even pre book and they’ll pick you up at the curb.
We’ve had flights before noon almost every cruise and had no problems. Yes, I know the ship can arrive late. It’s just never happened to us.
Thank you for the warning and hints. Since this trip it is my husband and I it's not a huge deal if we don't make theflight. (It was in March with my daughter only because she had to work the next day and we hadn't booked the flight with HAL).
We will do the self disembark, have Nexus, and get in line as quickly as possible for the taxi. If we have to stay overnight that's ok too. Will definitely not stress this time. We are retired so would offer our seats up to others if needed as well.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a down- free coat? I've seen a few online, but am unsure of the quality.

Thank you all so much. We have planned to just go down A1A but heard there was nothing to see but the fronts of hotels and lots of stop lights! I think I'll enjoy just being in Florida, the way our Washington weather has been.
We just want to see a bit of everything. We aren't shoppers; like nature, beaches, museums when there's time, different foods, and just seeing things we aren't used to seeing.
Your ideas are great- thanks again.

Thank you! Any suggestions on sights to see while heading south? Looking at the maps doesn't give any ideas of things to see. We were thinking A1A but am open to suggestions.

Does this sound like it'll work?
We will be at Disney World a few days before we leave Ft Lauderdale on a cruise.
We have rented at car to pick up the morning of our last day in Orlando. We'll pick it up in the morning, drive to see Kennedy Space Center and spend the day, get a hotel in the Cocoa Beach area, then drive to Ft Lauderdale, taking our time and going the scenic route from there to our hotel in Ft Lauderdale that night and return the car. Probably Uber to the port the next morning.
Does that plan sound like it'll work? Too long? Too short? We've never seen Florida except from the airports.

We have used dannysairbus at outlook dot com twice. He’s terrible at communicating but has always been there waiting for us.
