CVS has a disclaimer on the rapid test that it may not be acceptable for some travel. Does anyone know for sure that the CVS rapid test is acceptable for Princess?

Also as warning, we made appointments at CVS for antigens and they cancelled on us just hours before stating "our equipment is down", which I translated as we ran out of tests. We were left scrambling to find a place to test us on a very short notice. From then on, we have been using the proctored home tests because we don't have to worry anymore.

Good to know.  I set up my account when ordering, but don't plan to take the test until 2 days before sailing as per the requirement- which is a SUNDAY (cruise leaves Tuesday).  Would you know how fast you get results, and if they are available on Sunday?  I assume I can hold onto the test and log in to my account (husband will do same) when the time comes.

You get your results right away, even on Sunday.

Appreciate all the helpful info here and everyone’s experiences. Our cruise isn’t until Feb 26, but we leave Feb 12 for a wedding in Colorado. Here in Hawaii we notoriously have slow shipping and it’s hit/miss so I ordered ours yesterday! (I’m a nervous planner type) -Amanda

Oh me too! FYI, I just received our newest box, and thankfully these don't expire until November 2022

One box per user / cruise?  Or, two boxes per user / cruise?  Looking for specific clarificaiton.  TIA!

One test per user. There are 3 of us and we have been using the box of 6 tests for the 3 of us.

Terrible dinner....no one at the table could cut their prime rib....waiter said it was our fault because we should not have ordered it "medium".

Was replaced with the smoked pork loin.... which was not pork loin but actually was ham. No one at the table could eat that either.

Very disappointed with this dinner, we are sad to report.

This was my experience on the Regal a couple weeks ago. The meat was cut very thin and it was tough. It was the most disappointing meal I have had on Princess.

I don't know about other states, but I picked up four of the Binaxnow at home tests free of charge at our local library.   They are just like the ones in the link above where you have to use the Navica app.  They were made available through the Ohio Department of Health.  I haven't needed to use them and picked them up only because we were attending an out of state wedding (it was our son's so we couldn't really miss it!) and wanted to be covered in case just in case.

Beware, there are 2 types of Binaxnow home kits. The ones you can use for cruises have an "RX Only" notation on the lower left side of the box and a wrap around the box that says DO NOT OPEN.

What the heck we just go to a bar sit down and order a drink

This I prefer. I want to actually sit at the bar. Unfortunately, I've heard from other the UK passengers that you cannot sit at the bar and can only sit in certain areas in the lounges. Hopefully this rule changes before Regal and Sky come back to the US.

  8. We are in the same boat (ship). We have called 3 times about a booking number and still nothing. We chose a specific stateroom and I am betting it is no longer available. Why in the world would they open bookings before getting us all transferred over?!! I am not digging how Princess has handled this. If we didn't have so much money tied up in FCCs, I would just wash my hands of them for good.

I am following a FB group for the June 12 sailing. Some people are very upset about the change in vaccination to make it mandatory for 16 and above. One person was called by Royal, their 16-year-old got the first shot but will not make the 14 day cutoff for the full vaccination (after the 2nd shot). Looks like they will need to move to a later cruise date.

The kicker for her situation is that her son turns 16 2 days before sailing. He will be vaccinated, but just shy of the 14 day waiting period. They would not make an exception and her option was to cancel and rebook for a later date or cancel altogether.

I’ve never done that.  It’s just DH and me, 2 bags with wheels.  It takes both of us to remember where the car is after the cruise.  If I dropped him and bags off, I can just imagine the “discussion “ afterwards while I’m trying to find the car.  Not a good way to end a vacation and start an 8 hour drive home.

If you are going to bring your own luggage down make sure you bring your patience. Out last cruise out of there there was a lot of people waiting for the elevator. We took the stairs instead, but we dropped our luggage off first.

The whole Haven idea is a dealbreaker for me with NCL. I don’t like the idea of paying extra for access to large areas of ship.   ( and getting larger with newer ships so it seems ). The problem is I see more cruise lines going this direction.

    Dan

I agree with you on this. I absolutely hate the ship within a ship concept. That’s one reason I will most likely never sail NCL again and their newest ship coming out is full of amenities that most people won’t have access to. I suffer big time from FOMO 😬

Our flight home isn't until 6pm, so I'd like to hire someone to take us to a beach before taking us to the airport.  I just have no clue if we'll be off the boat by 9, 10, noon.  lol

I’m wondering what we will do on disembarkation day too. What do you plan to do with your luggage at the beach?

Just use Florida as an example. Been unlocked since Summer 2020. Almost a year. Florida is an example of what works. No mask mandate by State. No penalty or fine for not wearing one. Restaurants and Bars open.  ICU bed availability is normal for this time of year (snowbirds).

I have come to learn that yes, we in Florida appear to be living differently than other states. Everything is open. Masks may not be mandated, but every establishment that I have been to over this whole pandemic requires a mask to enter. The only time I've seen people without masks was last weekend when I made the mistake of visiting I-drive where the tourists are in Orlando. I never go there and I was shocked at the amount of people congregating without masks.
