  1. Hey! I just disembarked the day you embarked. I was so envious of you 14-day cruisers. Please fill us in on the pros and cons of your vacation.

LOL! You've misread my post. Looks like we were on the same cruise. I, too envious, booked the 14-day Panama Canal for 2019.

  2. I'm on the Wonder right now, just about at the end of our Panama Canal voyage. My last cruise was the same voyage/same ship three years ago. I agree with BartmanLA that all the newly-Imagineered spaces are wonderful. They've really brightened the areas up, improved flow, and generally kept things relevant and up-to-date. Where I am disappointed is in the basic maintenance of the ship. I am not used to seeing so much rust and have been really surprised that there's not as much scrape-and-paint as I remember from the past. Some other evidence of slipping maintenance are notable (e.g. worn carpets, badly scraped wall furnishings, etc.) as well. Also, some of the brand new chairs in Azure are already suffering from things like piping falling off, tears in the upholstery, and whatnot. Whether Disney cheaper out on the dry dock or guests are just harsher than they used to be, I don't know.

  3. I disembarked from the WONDER, 2-weeks ago -my 35th cruise. I recall lounging in the adult-exclusive section (The COVE), looking down and briefly marveling at the lack of rust and debris in the water-run-off "gutter" which runs right beneath the side railing. In October 2017, the Disney Wonder is still a beautiful ship and a well kept woman.

  4. THANK YOU, so much for this review. My family were stuck between Royal or Carnival @ Port Canaveral. The Liberty ship reviews I saw saw rated her low, more than likely due to her age.

I cruise frequently too. I also stay onboard during port days. Just for a quick get away...

Question: which deck was your cabin on? Maybe I should spend a little more for an upper deck so we won't be disturbed by kiddos running the halls at 2 AM. [emoji56]

  5. Wow! All this on ONE cruise?!? What a bummer. I hope you and your family enjoyed yourselves after all.

It boils my blood when I see young children roaming around alone at all hours of the night. God bless that kid! Kudos to you for spending some valuable time with him. He'll never forget it ❤️

  6. I left a neatly folded light blue beach towel atop the cabin dresser before my final disembarkation of Harmony of the Seas.

Earlier in the week, I checked the large towel out using my Sea Pas, pool side. I recalled just before my final disembark, that it was tucked away in a drawer. I was sure my cabin steward would collect it AND confirm with billing that the item was not "missing". When I returned home, I found an updated billing statement (e-mailed) and discovered the $25 charge :(. I guess RCI differs with CCL on this practice.

Anyone familiar with this? What are my chances of receiving a credit through customer service?

  7. You didn't indicate if the two kids in your party are yours! If so, you probably are used to being around kids and their friends.

Be prepared for probably 1,000 or more on board. Can result in more lines for popular activities and buffets.

Have found most families are just there to have a good time, but there is always a certain group that don't care and don't control their kids, but that's life!

The solarium is adults only and ships do have a curfew, which is enforced.

THANKS! Just the information I needed.

  8. We sailed on three cruises over Thanksgiving, including HOTS this past year. All of these have lots of kids, and - in general, they were all fine. You will alway see a few kids having a bit too much fun, but overall, it was not a huge problem. There is SO much to do on HOTS that the kids are kept pretty busy.

    THANK you, graciously!

  9. The only Caribbean port in which I remember seeing anyone begging is San Juan, Puerto Rico. There are quite a few there.

I am not counting the MONKEY GUYS in St. Kitts. Some may consider them beggars.

Now that's FUNNY!! My sister had the same experience and commented in kind. :D

  10. Oh, my! While lying in bed this morning, anticipating my upcoming 7-Day HOTS Easter Break Cruise, I came to the stark realization that in addition to the 2-children in my party I will be embarking with throngs of other kiddos (on Easter Break) as well. Any cruisers with experience? What can I expect?
