We will be turning in our rental car in Seward before our cruise. How far is the rental car drop off location to the dock? What is the best way to get from one to the other?

We will be renting a car for the trip from Anchorage and Seward. What are some must see and/or do things on the road between the two? We will be staying somewhere in between the two places for two nights so we will have plenty of time to check things out.

Yes I know that everyone likes to do different things but I still want recommendations of things that we should do on our journey between the two places. We are in our 30's and open to pretty much anything other than fishing.

I am usually able to find independent shore excursions for cheaper than cruise line prices. I have been searching but everything I find is the exact same price as the cruise lines price. Am I missing something? Does it just happen that the particular excursions I am picking aren't discounted? Or is Alaska just like this?

I am just suggesting the best way to "catch up".....

I am not sensitive or offended. I just don't see the purpose of wasting your time responding if all you are going to say is that you don't want to help. I am doing many different things to "catch up" and one of those was to reach out and see if there is anything that stood out to anybody. To me that is the whole point of these boards.

Your best bet is to read the member reviews of the ship you are taking.

 

There are many which are full of detail and insight.

 

That would make more sense than asking people to catch you up on the last 4 years.

Hey no need to be rude. If you don't want to provide any information just don't respond. I am not asking for someone to tell me every little thing that has happened in the last 4 years. Just looking to see if anyone has anything big to share.

I am a Diamond member but haven't been on a cruise for maybe 4 years. What's new with Royal Caribbean? Any big changes or anything new that I should know about?

I totally agree - do it on your own! It is super easy to get around, everything is close together and there is no possible way to get lost.

Looks like this is an old post but has been recently bumped up so I might as well share my opinion. I think an adults only cruise would be awesome but then as others have said, the price would probably go up. I usually go on trips that luckily have few kids because of the itinerary or time of year. I would love to see parents be more responsible for their children and teach them respect and manners. My parents took my sister and I on cruises as children but they would never allow us to act in the way I have seen other kids do on cruises. They have such great children's programs there should never be an excuse for kids to be causing trouble. So parents - please control your kids!!! And it would be nice to see the cruise lines enforce their rules.

I am a Diamond member with Royal Caribbean but haven't been on a cruise for a few years. I think the last one was in 2012. I plan to book a trip for next year and I was just wondering about any changes that have taken place since 2012. I don't mean with new ships and stuff like that - I am wondering about new policies and things that are different with the cruiseline itself and things that could change the cruise experience. Anything new or different I should be aware of? Has anybody noticed anything on board that has changed?
