Check the bar menus on this site:

On our last few cruises, they always had bottles of Langunitas IPA (12oz). I am sure it varies from ship to ship and cruise to cruise. The draft beer selection is lacking IMHO.

Note- the above experience was not on the Maasdam. We have yet to sail her.

    Thanks Overhead!

  2. They recently changed it to 90-days for any bookings made after Aug 15.

We booked awhile ago but luckily we were at 123 days at the time of this post and got an adjustment.

We must have been too, we booked nine months ago and our sail date in Jan 12

  3. So, I did finally connect with two guides who are willing to do private tours from Anse Mitan for a reasonable price. Brandon - barronb306@gmail.com, & Meri - anolitours@gmail.com. Both were very accommodating.

    Hope this helps someone!

We were on the Nov 23 sailing. Rented a car and headed to Les Saline’s beach. Very beautiful half moon bay, great swimming. Be very careful renting, do the full walk around take pictures and check gas. We had a rental that happened to be the only one with a piece of metal stripping on the bumper. Conveniently fell off very easily on return. We had accident coverage so no problem, but we thought it was a scam .

  4. If you could shed some additional light on your Montserrat tour that would be great. Did you arrange beforehand? By 'private' do you mean just for your family or do you mean 'not WS arranged'? Did you get into Plymouth and/or the exclusion zone? Cost pp? Thanks.

Hi, we went with Sunny . I think it’s Montserrat tours. Great reviews from trip advisor, which I am going to write a one too. There was four of us 90$ us each. We were in a good sized van.We went to the observatory and the exclusion zone including Plymouth .We also went to his dads coffee shop which if you are interested in any music 70s and 80s, he has tons of memorabilia from the Air Studio that Sir George Martin built on Montserrat. We toured around the island and stopped for lunch .( not included). The wahoo fish and chips were awesome. Turned out that Sunny caught the fish the day before and his friend sold it to the cook! It’s a small island... it was an awesome experience.

  5. On Equinox a few years ago. My wife, a fitness marvel, was at the pool wearing a newly released bikini from Venus swimwear, was approached by a much less fit (OK, obease) woman wearing the size 20 version of the same swim suit. As she passed my wife this "lady" came to a screeching halt, looked my wife up and down, and exclaimed "Bitch!"

To interpret, in women’s language, that is a high compliment , just saying;)

  6. I have been using b......com, first time for the decanter. I learned it was closedown cruise critic. Did another booking thru that site and it allowed me to book at the intercontinental. Heard again from you folk that it too was closed. Got thru to the booking site and asked how this could happen?! They booked us in for the best western.. fool me once...

  7. My bet is he was the "pooper" and is upset at having been outed.

About five years ago, our first cruise, we were on the Equinox in the med. one sea day there was a cake decorating demo. I went and was surprised to see a large crowd, standing room only at the back. At the end, the chef invited people up to take pictures . people were lining up, and being very orderly about it. Three ladies went straight up to the table and proceeded to take pictures. Someone said, hey, we are all waiting, too, get in line like the rest of us! This lady with a French accent said, oh, you Americans are so loud and rude! Which the response was from several people, well, you didn't mind us in WW2! Since it was turning into an international incident,I left , at that point, but I heard later in got worse...

  8. There can definitely be some rocking and rolling.. If at all susceptible to sea sick, go for midship and a bit lower.. Layer the clothes, good mitts and alarm hat. Prepare for rain and wind too.went to a little island off of Ushuaia to see the Penguins. Falkland Islands was great, loved the law drover tour, and a pint at the Globe Pub. If you have the time, do try to get to Iguazu falls before or after... I would do it again ! The speakers on board really made the cruise.

Autocorrect strikes again.. That would be a warm hat, and the Land Rover tour, private company, forget the name of the fellow who does it.

  10. Just off the Silhouette British Isles cruise.. Loved the ports, staff, food, etc.. All in all a great time.. I have cruised several times now,and my friends first cruise. She has reactive airway problems, and was quite aware that she would be in groups where people would wear perfumes and colognes, and tried hard to be proactive with her puffers, and wear to sit, avoid crowded elevators, etc. I had to admit that the perfume clouds of 6 feet radius were hard to avoid. Do you think it's reasonable for cruise lines to have discreet signs reminding people to be aware of others noses, or is just a losing battle?

  11. We have only cruised with a balcony. Many of my sea bird, whale, seal/sea lion and penguin sightings on this trip were from our balcony. But we spent the bulk of our at-sea and Antarctica time on deck. Cold and windy sometimes, but quite manageable. If you are generally comfortable with an OV, then I wouldn't change for this trip.

We went 2014, we couldn't go to to Elephant Island because of a storm approaching, instead we circled an island which had a sunken crater, name escapes me. Lots of whales, and penguins. They say the Drake Passage is either quake or Lake and when we saw the Pacific Atlantic convergence , it was a lake. We could actually see! The oceans meet! We also went on the Patrick Watts tour of the Falklands, which is a highlight of the whole cruise. Puerto Madryn was okay, but it makes for a lot of bus time, definitely take the boat tour out to the island at Usuhaia. We stayed at a B and B in the town of Iguazu, The Lazy Iguana. It is a taxi ride in and out of the park, but it was fun to experience the town and the local restaurants. Be prepared for heat and sun, and then cold, wind, and rain. Go!

  12. Thanks Brian.

Other posters have been saying that they get $ for $

    I.e. USD25 for CAD25

But your comment suggests that you got a different rate ?

No. I didn't get 25$US fror 25$ but the conversion was way better than what I get at home. 244 Cnd for 225 us
