  1. Just got off of Bliss March 27 with my husband and 7 year old daughter. We went in with eyes wide open that SA wasn't open with the promise of fun family activities. There were some family friendly things going on during the day, but we didn't call them fun. My daughter isn't old enough to enjoy the trivia, the showing of Raya and the Last Dragon was a horrible 3D version that gave us headaches so we left 20 min in, and the times they opened up teen club for families was disappointing too.  Overall, we still had a decent time and enjoyed ourselves most when on excursions. In our view, the SA is critical for ALL members of our family to enjoy ourselves and participate in activities that we each like. For this cruise, we all were mostly disappointed...no bingo or spa day for me, no friend making for my daughter (other than the pool where she (we) all spent most of our time, and no lounge crawls for my husband.

My opinion only - they could have opened up SA and required masks while attending. This would have made for a better business decision..the kids having fun, the parents spending $$ elsewhere. I saw many many bored crew members very happy to be there and waiting for something to do...

  2. I received the same email that Splash Academy was not going to be offering drop-off services for our March 20-27 sailing to Mexico. All of us are disappointed and I would have opted to cruise with Disney or figured out alternative plans for my 7 year old...but alas, we've already paid and FCC would likely go unused. Will still enjoy being away, but would also have liked to not have a bored child and some adult only time. Huge Bummer.

I was told that this is how it will be on all NCL ships until further notice. The Splash Academy won't be open, but they will have "Feel Free Play" times for the younger kids. The teens area will be open, but there currently is NOT a drop off program for the 12 and under crowd. I asked when this might change, and the answer was, "We don't know, this is how it will be until further notice".

I received the same response when asking about my 7 year old for a Spring Break 2022 sailing. Really hoping the drop off program will be available in March.

  4. Hi,  Does anyone have any recent reviews/experience with Karmel Shuttle? My family and I will be on the spring break Sun-Sun NCL Bliss cruise with a Noon flight out of LAX.  I'm investigating booking a private ride back to LAX to reduce some stress.  Any insights would be appreciated! Also, am I out of mind to think we will make a Noon flight?

    Happy cruising!

  5. Hello!

It's been 10 years since my husband and I cruised with NCL. We are taking our first child free vacation (leaving 4yr old with Grandma)! I'm wondering if the WiFi is strong/fast enough to support short, 5-10 min, voice or video calls. Does anyone have experience using the WiFi for this use case and can you provide feedback on your experience?

We have the free 250 min package but are considering the upgrade to unlimited WiFi so that we can remain connected all the time just in case of emergency.

  6. OK... I now know that I can't upload an Excel file (which is what my cruise planner is formatted in ), so if anyone would like the .xls file, please reach out to me via email and I'll be happy to send you the entire file. All the tabs are pre-formatted so that once you plug in your sail date and your ship name on the first page (Travel Info), this info populates corresponding cells on the other tabs. It also has a preset reminders tab that will take your cruise date and automatically calculate reminders for certain activities that you need to do pre-cruise at different intervals (1, 2, 3 weeks prior). In the meantime, I will attempt to post .pdf's of the individual tabs. Crossing my fingers and hoping this works. :)

Hi Sherri914, I would love a copy of your excel! It sounds like a great model. My email is leonna.obedowski@gmail.com

    Thanks!

  7. This concoction is based on Long Island Ice Tea. Just add the Vodka to unsweetened tea and add lemonade (artifically sweetened) and a little OJ. Don't laugh until you've tried it.

That sounds yummy. I think I will try it out now while watching the big game. :)

Thanks all for the ideas. I will make sure to bring my own mixers on board.
