  1. We always ignore progressive check in and haven't had a problem. Princess seems to usually start boarding around noon. In transit passengers, Elites, Platinum, and then everyone else usually close to order of check-in.

Thanks for the info I was hoping we could board early other wise we will have to find a place to hang out after we check out of our hotel

  2. My husband and I are cruising to Alaska for the first time in June and in Skagway we are planning on renting bikes. But I would like a back up plan in case of rain. I was wondering if they are vendors by the dock in Skagway selling tours. Also I was thinking of the train as a possible back up plan can you buy tickets at the last minute

  3. I was wondering too about this tour. I have sent them two emails but no reply. I was wondering if we have enough time for the tour. We are in Ketchikan till 12:30 and the tour is four hours with the first tour at eight.

  4. It is my understanding that the cruise line will not allow you to board in some foreign ports unless mechanical issues with transportation, which you will have to provide proof. Same thing with insurance, they will not cover loss unless you provide written proof.

I will call Carnival and ask if we would miss the ship due to weather if we can catch it in Cabo

We are expecting snow and freezing rain tonight and our flight leaves early Saturday morning.

We are going to look in to a back up plan just in case.

    Thanks for the well wishes

  5. Has any body ever got on the ship at the first port of call because they missed the ship due to bad weather. Wondering if Carnival refunds money for the missed portion of the cruise. Leaving Saturday for the Miracle and the weather report isn't the greatest we do have insurance and are leaving a day early but just curious what would happen if we had to catch the ship in Cabo.

  6. I was not aware of the former method that was in place for reaching a passenger on a Carnival ship. As we will be sailing beginning next weekend' date=' I had the same concern about having family, not traveling with us, who may need to reach us and wondering how they would be able to make contact.

Yesterday, I called the main number listed on the Carnival website and posed the question to them. The representative informed me that anyone needing to reach us would need the following... 1) Our booking number, 2) Ship name, and 3) our names. We were to ask family members to call: 800 227-6482 and to explain the need. Then, apparently, a message would be left on our stateroom phone providing the information that was delivered.

Hope that none of us will ever need to have our family or loved ones need to use this service, but at least it is good to know.

    Hope this helps!

    Happy cruising everyone![/quote']

Thanks for the info I appreciate it. Like you said hopefully no one will need to call but it is good for our family to have in the case of an emergency

  7. Hope there is a way to be reached in a dire emergency. We usually leave the emergency shore-to-ship info with my daughter & his son just for peace of mind.

Don't really want to call to say "Is there an emergency yet".

Sparky2 I am with you I worry about my elderly mom and that is why I wonder if in a dire emergency there is a way to contact the ship
