  1. Thanks, this is exactly the type of review I was looking for. We are looking to change from Carnival to Princess. We were worried that our soon to be 14 year old daughter may not enjoy it. We are taking one of her friends with us on our next Carnival cruise, but we cruise 3-4 times a year it won't always be an option for us.

  2. I'm on the 1/8 sailing, and yet to get the email I have seen it. We have a spa room, and I'm not to thrilled with the Liberty. I really did not like Valor. Then add the fact that I have overpaid for the cruise at this point. If our friends weren't going we would change to another ship. They do not want to. The only saving grace for me is that it is an ABC cruise. I will think about it the next couple days. We may change to the Pride for the partial Panama Canal, or Mardi Gras.

I do not think the compensation for the ship or room type is comparable.

  3. We have looked at it, and were curious. Just everything I saw was hundreds of more from RCL. I will see if anything is available during my time frame. We would just need to change our flights with AA. MSC prices were like $139 for a balcony for a 4 day cruise. We would do that and add a couple days.

  4. We have a week off mid August, and my husband really wants to cruise. We have an 11 years old daughter that isn't vaccinated yet. Would it be to late to book a cruise and get an exemption? Like everyone else the entire family is having cruise withdrawals. We originally had one booked on the sunshine.

  5. Well my mom decided she wanted a 7 day cruise. Booked the Breeze for March 21st. Going to Amber Cove, San Juan, St. Thomas, and Grand Turk. Never been to Amber Cove or St. Thomas. Any pointers for St. Thomas? I have never been there.

Late planning, and it looks like my daughter has out grown everything 🤣

Our next cruise in July that we are taking our friends on their first ever vacation we are going to go to Fort Charlotte and Pirate Museum.

I'm glad my mom finally made a decision, and at least we aren't going on the same ship 3 times this year 😁

  6. We were suppose to go to Universal. My parents promised our daughter this trip for her 10th birthday which is a couple days before Christmas. She didn't get many gifts, and she was fine with that. In January my dad told my mom (which they are both in their upper 50's not old, but some health issues my mom is handicap-able as well) that he didn't think he could handle Universal for a few days. Aubrey said she would like to go on a cruise instead if that meant papa could go. We typically do 1 or 2 a year, but never book this close to sailing.  Mostly book 9 months to a year out. My parents are the go to a resort and sit on the beach for a week kind of people. We are not resort people, so trying to meet in the middle.  My parents do need to relax, so this trip we probably won't be as active in ports.

We have never sailed from Charleston. Only from PC, Jacksonville, and Baltimore. Any pointers on Charleston port and FL will be helpful. My dad hated the Elation, and it was 4 weeks out of dry dock. I think with that, and the review on Progreso we will just toss aside the Fantasy.

If we pick Sunrise we won't be able to leave until Friday night, and drive down. I will have to see how much further it is than PC.

All the pointers have been super helpful. We have never been to Amber Cove, and I have never thought about it.It sounds like we can hang out at the pool with them, and then leave them for a bit to hike trails.

    Thanks,

    Cynthia

  7. My family of 3  has 2 cruises planned for July and Christmas this year on the Sunshine. Same itinerary HMC and Nassau, and same spa cabin. My parents now want to go on a cruise, and have some time off in March. I have never booked this close before. We live in Richmond, VA so Baltimore and Charleston are our closest ports unless their is one out of Norfolk. I have found 3 cruises for that time, and we will be driving to port.

    -Sunshine- Princess Cay and Nassau

    -Fantasy- Yucatan and Cozumel

-Sunrise - Amber cove and Nassau

Any of these better than the other?

-Do you get better prices calling or booking online?

    Thanks 😎

  8. I've been allergic to Vinegar since i was a small child. For the most part I know what vinegar is in, and just avoid it. I also tell the server. I have recently become allergic to seafood, and it's airborne. Where would I put this in my booking, or do I just need to talk to someone when i get on the ship?

  9. We sailed during Christmas this year. Our 8 year old turned 8 on the cruise, and Christmas. She loved every minute of it, and now wants to do that every year. Their are a lot of holiday activities going on for kids and adults. We aren't doing it this year due to having a cruise in 2 weeks and then another during spring break. We will do another one in 2019.

  10. Besides the e-mail, that you now know about. You will also see it in, manage my booking in your activities.

And as far as Diamond and platinum goes, if they have a full house. That's there priority, if a Diamond or platinum member calls after they're all booked they're not getting in, if your diamond or platinum! Once you have reservations you're good to go. You were smart to book it online prior to your cruise, there have been times we have gone in on the first day track down the steakhouse folks as soon as we got on the ship. And that first night is already taken!

I thought I may see it in manage my bookings, and it's not there nor have I gotten an email. If I haven't received any confirmation should I call carnival or retry again online??

    I appreciate all the help!!

  11. Great description of the port. We sailed on her over Christmas, and we really liked the ship. This was my husbands second civilian cruise, our daughters first, and I've been in a few civilian cruises and military. My DH and I just chuckled when we saw the port. It's easy to park at, and easy to get on the ship. I feel like she gets a bad rap for being old, but we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed every moment. The staff was great. I want to try one of the newer bigger ships, but DH really enjoys the smaller ships. We sail on Sunshine in a couple weeks. Planning on another Christmas cruise, and he wants to go back on the Elation again.

  12. I am planning a short 4-night Western Caribbean cruise for November 2019. I’ll be sailing with my 2 sisters and my mom. All of us girls are in our late 30’s/early 40’s, and my mom is late 60’s. My mom normally sails Celebrity and Holland America, and I’ve only sailed Oasis of the Seas. My sisters have never sailed before, unless you count the family cruise we went on in the early 90’s on Dolphin Cruise Line. [emoji3]

With all of that info, which ship would you choose? Our options are Dream, Paradise, Sensation, or Valor. I’d love any insight you can give!

OMG another person that went on Dolphin!! I went in middle school maybe 95-96 it was my first cruise.

I've only been on the Valor on that list and we liked her. We felt it was easy to navigate, and not overly big. My husband really liked the serenity deck, but he thought the decor was dated. We also liked how the casino and sports bar was. No issues with food or cleanliness.
