  1. Looking way back at the first few pages of this post there is lots of talk about bad vibrations on The Pride. Is this still the case? We are booked for this May and have always had a aft balcony. This will be our first cruise departing from so far north. The seas have always been fairly smooth on previous cruises. Should I now be worried about a vibration also?

My niece has stayed in one of those. I asked her about vibration. She said there was no problem. I would think that the lower decks may be the ones where you'd feel it. I don't know what deck she was on.

  2. how can i get them, just visiting the website?

You don't have to be an AARP member, but I believe you have to register to the site. Rewards for Good is what you look for.

Answer some quizzes, get points. It doesn't matter if you answer right or wrong. You use the points towards the gift cards ... when they are offered. $100 or $500 will be the amounts. They can go quick.

You also get 50 for just logging in each day.

  3. I book through a TA, so I know that the line will not talk directly to me about my booked cruise.

My TA tried to tell me I was wrong in a situation similar to yours. I called the line, but did not ask them specifically about my booked cruise. I asked as a 'what if'.

The line agreed with me. I then explained that my TA was not agreeing with me on this about my booked cruise. The person on the other end of the line volunteered to send an email to my agent.

I got what I was entitled to.

  4. OK- please don't attack me, but I confess-- if that had happened on our cruise on that ship the week before, for which my spouse and I paid for the airfare and balcony cabins for 12 family members (think $$$$) and this happened, I'd have been horrified and terribly sad for the victim and her family, but yes, I'd probably have been a bit skeeved. Not sure I'd have expected anything, but I'd have not been a happy camper.

I'm sure most (all) on board were not happy.

  5. Not sure why you think they deserve more from Princess - the cruise line was not responsible for the murder or the lockdown. It might be a good PR move on their part, but nothing I would expect them to do.

    I agree with you.

What is more compensation going to do for them?

  6. Packing cubes are just for organization. If you want more space use a compression sack.

I've never used them, and won't be buying them. I do see where they would help with organizing things, but I don't see how they will allow 'me' to get more into my suitcase.

I roll my clothes and believe me I pack it tight.

  7. Was asked on the Legend in September, but never asked a few weeks ago on the Legend. The steward just asked what times we wanted. Just wondering, if they go down to once a day, does anyone ever reduce gratuities? For as long as I have been cruising, the gratuity has been based on twice a day service.

If you read some of the comments above - it will be done.

    I wouldn't reduce them.

  8. What are the typical time for AM and PM? My boyfriend is a late sleeper, so on sea days he's not going to like being disturbed. When we stay in hotels, we never get housekeeping the entire time we're there. I'm a bit OCD so our rooms are always tidy. I guess I'm asking if you HAVE to have it at all?

I'm sure you could. You might want fresh towels though, I guess you could just ask for them when you see your steward.

  9. I only choose AM. I know I'll be out most of the day. When I come back in the afternoon everything is done.

I may take an afternoon nap, or lie in bed. The steward still freshened up the room in the evenings, and left an animal.

Some nights I come back to the cabin early. I don't want to find the steward there.

  10. The worse thing I have seen is small groups talking loudly and laughing as if they are on a private boat... no consideration for anyone else... annoying ... especially when it is in the buffet area... we seldom go there anyone as we like it more quiet...

This wouldn't bother me too much, I don't think, maybe depending on the topic of conversation.

We have been in the SERENITY area and had a group of VERY loud individuals playing a game. They were from another country, maybe they didn't know the meaning of serenity.

The loud nose blowers in the restaurant when you are eating is the worst.

I find nose blowing at the table, especially into the napkins, disgusting. Loud or not.

  11. On Imagination last month my gf saw someone stealing a stack of photos. She just slipped in her purse and walked right into the casino. My gf tried to notify the workers, but she was GONE. We spent like 60-70 bucks on pictures so we were in shock to see someone just take them.

Okay. Apparently I've had a long day. I first read this as a 'sack of potatoes'. lol

  12. When did they replace the gangway? Is it back from the line of shipping containers? Also very curious when the lounge happened as well. It seemed like we were just on her but I guess that way Fall 2015... Maybe a little longer than I realized!

The gangway has been back a few months. I don't know when the lounge started, my last cruise was the first time I was eligible to use it, really didn't 'use' it though. We were pretty much whisked right through it.

  13. Who was the CD in April?

Do they scan everyone's S&S for Muster?....I can imagine that being a mess while everyone stands in a line trying to find their cards.

Yes They do. You are told to have your cards out.

The only mess, I find, are the stragglers. They make muster take soooo much longer than it has to.

  14. Oh my goodness that is absolutely sick prob shouldn't even touch banisters on the ship or if we do at the least carry some Germenix to rub on our hands afterwards yuck!

Sent from my iPad using Forums

I don't touch anything I don't have to ... anywhere. People are disgusting!

I push buttons with a knuckle, and use the back of my hand on stair railings, to steady myself and for safety. If I stumble I can quickly turn my hand to grip the rail.
